if you ever are wondering why wikipedia possibly works, it's because people with usernames like "weeb dingle" get surprisingly heated about minor debates on the talk page for the "dating" article. this website is a sight to behold, a wonder of the world, i love it so much

@depthsofwiki We need a meta page listing the longest edit war (in words of text or time or some formula of both), per language version. Despite English Wikipedia’s popularity on the world stage I believe the true leader in this will be non-English.

@depthsofwiki Wikipedia should be listed as one of the wonders of the internet world, I mean you would think a project like that would either fizzle out or turn into anarchy but no it actually has accurate information for the most part.

@depthsofwiki I came upon the page for Coronal Mass Ejection and it was being updated at that very moment by a user called "Coronal Mass Affection" Blessed

@depthsofwiki I didn’t know the hero I needed would be called ‘weeb dingle’- but I also didn’t wake up today thinking my thoughts would be hijacked by an alcoholic polish soldier bear either - what a time to be alive!

@depthsofwiki if it works so well, they wouldn't have deleted the "List of Vampire Traits In Folklore And Fiction" despite its flaws it was literally the only good way on the internet to just at a glance see how people have written vampires over the years. and now it's gone, no backup
