You have to presuppose that they are aware of armor, and can form tactics to overwhelm the wearer. The most likely outcome is that they find their weapons ineffective at range, a couple of them attempt to close for hand-to-hand combat, get butchered, and the rest flee to be hunted down.

Do the thought experiment. You and your 30 friends have primitive weapons, and must subdue and/or kill a guy in plate armor with a sword. If you're willing to take wounds, or even a couple of you get killed, can you take down the guy in plate?
