An Airbus 380 is on its way across the Atlantic. It flies consistently at 800 km/h at 30,000 feet, when suddenly a Eurofighter with a Tempo Mach 2 appears. The pilot of the fighter jet slows down, flies alongside the Airbus and greets the pilot of the passenger plane by radio: "Airbus, boring flight isn’t it? Now have a look here!" He rolls his jet on its back, accelerates, breaks through the sound barrier, rises rapidly to a dizzying height, and then swoops down almost to sea level in a breathtaking dive. He loops back next to the Airbus and asks: "Well, how was that?" The Airbus pilot answers: "Very impressive, but watch this!" The jet pilot watches the Airbus, but nothing happens. It continues to fly straight, at the same speed. After 15 minutes, the Airbus pilot radios, "Well, how was that? Confused, the jet pilot asks, "What did you do?" The AirBus pilot laughs and says: "I got up, stretched my legs, walked to the back of the aircraft to use the washroom, then got a cup of coffee and a chocolate fudge pastry." The moral of the story is: When you’re young, speed and adrenaline seems to be great. But as you get older and wiser, you learn that comfort and peace are more important. Gulf societies do not have "citizenship" in the sense we imagine. Western citizenship is about civic traditions, it has roots in Greco-Roman culture. Arabian Peninsula citizenship is different entirely. GCC leaders are tribal chieftains with dependents. That's why jus soli makes no sense there. Your citizenship is not indicative of participation in society, it represents a relationship to the tribal ruling structure. Tat's why the Amirs and Shaykhs grant citizenship when it is politically expedient, or when they like a person. Likewise, they purge citizens who are politically unsavory. Sometimes a term is only applicable in the most vague sense. Calling a GCC tribal allegiance to a leader a "citizenship" does more to mislead us than clarify.

Humans shouldn't always stay at home, even if you have nothing to do. Because staying at home for too long makes the brain become dull and leads to overthinking. You'll have more negative emotions. Psychology calls this state mental rumination. Most of the time, people who stay at home long term are not physically lazy - but mentally exhausted. You increasingly do not want to go out or see people. Even going to the supermarket downstairs to buy a bottle of water feels troublesome. You start to get used to being in a daze alone, scrolling through your phone and staying up late. Then you repeatedly struggle with yourself in an empty room. You think you're resting. But in fact, you're quietly draining the vitality of life. Your brain needs stimulation. Movement. Connection. Without it, your thoughts turn inward and spiral. The longer you isolate, the harder it becomes to break the pattern.

your obsession should be realizing that time doesn’t care about you. every day you waste, hesitate, overthink or delay… someone else is using that exact same 24 hours to get ahead of you. there is no pause button, no catch up season and no moment where life says “okay, now you can start for real.” while your waiting to feel ready, to feel motivated or to feel certain… the clock is quietly taking everything from you and one day, it won’t be about potential or plans anymore, it’ll be about what you actually did and how much of it you let slip through your hands.
