Tape just changed a bit overall to support the differences in the film and the culture as well.

The light circle, however, is uniquely something made for the tape in The Ring (US version)! The JP tape is similar to the US one but many individual scenes are different.

@_rawrell I miss the fixed angles in the FF2Remake so badlyyyy. I've missed a couple ghosts just because the old game would show you your position in relation to some lmao. Genuinely one triggered well after I walked by the area and I couldn't turn around and find it in time once ๐ญ

An underrated aspect of fixed camera angles is they allowed devs to guide the player in a somewhat subtle way that doesn't break immersion or feel too much like handholding. Objectively superior to smearing everything in yellow paint.

The ring of light specifically is supposed to be a representation of that 'well ring' as well in this version of the tape.
Agreed Ring 2 is a better 'direct sequel' in the films than Spiral is, though.

This sounds really silly but the angle you have your pen display matters if you're a young artist because the angle will skew the way you see your drawing as you're drawing it. This is why artists doing life drawing while seated basically have their easels almost at eye level.
