🚨 NEW: YouTube has hit out at the UK's social media ban for under-16s "YouTube is a vital resource for young people, educators and parents. Blanket bans push kids out of such curated, supervised, beneficial experiences and towards anonymous, less safe services"

I feel like I'm not being dramatic in saying that this will kill kids. I turned to social media when I was 15 because I had no friends, and it saved my life. I can't imagine what it's like for today's kids, especially those who are LGBTQ+ and live in dangerous home environments.

I think yes and no. Yes in the way that it brought tcg back into the public eye but if we killed every scalper right now people would still buy pokemon cards. Also people would still buy them if scalpers didnt popularise them again cus they made it 20 years without them
PokeTriggz@PokeTriggz

Controversial Are scalpers the reason this hobby is alive? Not metaphorically. Literally. If we look at the photos people post of Pokémon sitting on Target shelves in 2019. Stacks of it. Untouched. Nobody fighting over it. Nobody streaming it. Nobody refreshing a page at midnight for it. Why were the shelves full? Is it because nobody wanted it? Then the scalpers showed up and did the one thing the Pokémon Company never could: they made it feel scarce. They made it feel valuable. They turned a kids’ card game into something that felt like it mattered, and the second something feels like it might be worth chasing, everyone wants in. But here’s the part nobody admits. It was never really about the resale. It’s about the kid who now begs to go to Target every week. The wife who started pulling packs “just to see.” The girlfriend who has her own binder now. The group chat that lost its mind over a drop. Scalpers gave us something to look forward to together — and something to complain about together. That’s not a market. That’s a community. And it didn’t exist when the shelves were full. We hate them. And yet we’ve never had more fun. Yeah it’s a pain in the you know what to hunt these days, but I can truly say that I’m having fun making memories with my family through Pokemon

🚨🗣️New: Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Vinicius Junior refusing the mandatory halftime interview with FIFA at the World Cup: “People are shocked that Vinícius walked away from a halftime interview. I am shocked that anyone thinks he should have stopped in the first place. Halftime is not a television studio. Halftime is not a podcast. Halftime is not a red carpet. Halftime is the heartbeat of a football match. For 45 minutes, players are warriors in a storm. They run, they fight, they suffer, they bleed. Then they get 15 precious minutes to recover, to breathe, to listen, to think. And FIFA wants to spend part of that time chasing soundbites? That is like pulling a Formula 1 driver out of his car during a pit stop and asking him how the race is going. And FIFA’s idea is to shove a microphone in the player’s face and ask, ‘How do you feel?’ How do you think he feels? He’s exhausted. This is modern football’s biggest disease. Everything is content. Everything is sponsorship. Everything is television. The match hasn’t even finished and they’re already trying to manufacture headlines. They tell us they care about player welfare. Really? Then why are players playing more games than ever? Why are tournaments expanding? Why are injuries increasing? And now they want halftime interviews too? The hypocrisy is unbelievable. Halftime is sacred. It belongs to the players and the coaches. That’s where games are won. That’s where tactics change. That’s where injuries get treated. That’s where leaders speak. It is not a media circus. And don’t tell me this is for the fans. Fans want better football, not a tired player giving a robotic 20-second answer because somebody sold another broadcast package. Vinícius understood that. He chose football over public relations. The funniest part? They threaten him with a fine. A fine. As if that changes the principle. If I were there, I’d pay it too. Because some things are worth more than money. If FIFA really had their way, they’d put microphones in the dressing room and call it innovation. Football should come first. Not content. Not commercials. Not corporate greed. For once, a player pushed back. And that’s exactly why so many people are angry.”

Undead Never Dies V. IV 〓〓
"Stare at a wall" is so apt bc there is literally nothing for kids to do here anymore. Parks are for young children, so teens get chased out, everything is super expensive so you can't go on a day out, and there's precious little nature left to explore. Thats all you can do.

🚨 VINI JR JUST TOLD FIFA: “WE’LL PAY THE FINE — BUT NOBODY FROM US IS DOING HALF-TIME INTERVIEWS.” During Brazil’s World Cup match, Vinícius refused the mandatory tunnel interview. Reporter: “You’ll get a huge fine for this.” Vini: “We’ll pay. But nobody is coming to the mic.” This isn’t arrogance. It’s players finally saying enough to FIFA’s corporate circus. Half-time should be for tactics, water, recovery — not feeding the broadcast machine while the game gets sliced up for ads (sound familiar with those forced “welfare” breaks?). FIFA under Infantino has turned football into a product. Mandatory everything. Player focus as an afterthought. Suits in Zurich cashing in. Brazil and Vini just pushed back. Raw. Direct. No bowing to the machine. The beautiful game belongs to the players on the pitch — not boardrooms selling every second. Who else is done with this?
