After taking some time to reflect, I am ready to write this. After 7 years competing professionally in FIFA/FC esports, I have decided to retire from the title. The level to compete is still there but the enjoyment and hunger to win that drove me when I first started are no longer the same. Since the transition from FIFA to FC and the introduction of playstyles the game has progressively moved in a direction I can no longer fully stand behind and support. Over the years, we had to deal with persistent delay and lag during online qualifiers and online cups. We dont have any opportunities like we had back in the day only 1 tournament to qualify for and if you dont make an eLeague your season could come to an end really early. At an esport of this magnitude, that standard is unacceptable. The delay and inconsistent gameplay impacted my gameplay, especially online and even on LAN, I had to change my whole playstyle that I practiced with at home just to adapt to the gameplay being different especially in the Malta ePremier League, you go into a match and you dont know what gameplay you are going to face which for me is unacceptable and I truly believe it prevented me from reaching my full potential. Despite that, im proud of what I achieved. I came heartbreakingly close to qualifying for major events and winning the Malta ePremier League multiple times. I earned over €10,000 in prize money and had the honour of representing my country in eNations. My only regret is not lifting the Malta ePremier League trophy especially after being so close and being among the best competitors in my country for seven consecutive years. With that being said, my esports career is far from over. I will be competing on GOALS when it launches. I have full faith in the GOALS developers I believe in their vision and they know what they are doing. Im obsessed with esports, obsessed with being the best and obsessed in winning and I firmly believe that on a proper football game with good gameplay, no delay and no interference like GOALS I can compete with the very best in the world. Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout this journey, especially my family and friends. Your support meant everything. These memories will stay with me forever.
