Covid is so bad most people are too scared to read about it, theyโ€™d rather tell each other, immunity debt, isolation, and masks are the threat, these they can โ€œovercomeโ€

A major new review from Yale (Moen, Baker, Iwasaki, 2025) offers the most comprehensive picture yet of what SARS-CoV-2 does to the nervous system. The conclusion is stark: Long COVID is a chronic neuroimmune disorder affecting brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves.๐Ÿงต

One needs not look to far to the Northern Hemisphere to see what awaits us. Influenza is raging. Every other virus is having a party. Hospitals in the US and Canada are back in masks... Not us I fear

Had my first healthcare worker refuse to mask My chart says Iโ€™m immune compromised & require staff to mask. The facility had a policy that if asked, staff will wear I was told โ€œno I need to breathe to do my jobโ€. I stood firm & said Iโ€™m high risk and masks are required ๐Ÿงต

Well, Covid Watchers, today is an odd milestone. Throughout the pandemic Covid prevalence has been intimately linked with the dominance of sequences with and without two amino acids (H69/V70). Today, the most recent period of domination here (by sequences *without H69/V70*) becomes the longest since the since the switch started.

COVID had & continues to have a big impact on this country, turning around decades of progress. Note that almost all Australia's pandemic excess deaths were in 2022-23. 30,000 people died more than expected in that time. A spike in COVID deaths has driven a decline in Australian life expectancy for the second year running abc.net.au/news/2024-11-0โ€ฆ via @ABCaustralia

Working on my new Disclaimer (Or: A Little Something for the Sealions): So, let me get this straight. Despite spending nearly five years of my very limited spare time as a full-time working parent translating over 500 peer-reviewed studiesโ€”many directly linked to cognitive functioning and SARS-CoV-2โ€”into plain English so that you might have a fighting chance of understanding why the world is going down the drain, Iโ€™m the one who's cherry-picking data? Despite having accurately predicted everything from spikes in excess mortality and vehicular accidents to the nosedive in student performance (shout out to LSAT, SAT & ACT scores!), while suggesting health behavior interventions that could actually make a difference (like, you know, cleaning the air), youโ€™re still skeptical? Even after the data has shown that Covid can and does cause brain damage, backed by imaging studies, cognitive tests, and randomized controlled trials showing that reducing virus transmission improves academic performance, you think Iโ€™m just making this up? Let me clarify a couple of things for the chronically obtuse: Yes, I am not a medical doctor. But guess what? I do have a PhD in Education with specializations in cognitive health across the lifespan, behavior adherence, and interventions that actually enhance cognitive functioning. And by the way, Iโ€™m still a Novid. Imagine thatโ€”someone who practices what they preach and remains uninfected. Brain Fog is Real: Although not a medical term, the phrase certainly makes headlines yet few grasp the reality of what this experience reflects. Itโ€™s the result of neurological damage caused by a virus that youโ€™re letting waltz into your brain because, hey, "freedom," right? If you canโ€™t smell, hear, or see properly post-Covid, congratulationsโ€”youโ€™re experiencing just a taste of the cognitive joyride you signed up for. Sealioning: For those who engage in this delightful pastime, let me break it down for you. Itโ€™s when someone like you pretends to be oh-so-curious, asking โ€œinnocentโ€ questions to refute well-established evidence, all while ignoring the fact that Iโ€™ve been doing this shit for nearly five years. Itโ€™s not skepticism; itโ€™s bad-faith arguing designed to exhaust and distract from the mountains of data that you refuse to acknowledge. So, if youโ€™re here to argue that Iโ€™m cherry-picking, or that hundreds of published studies converging on the same conclusion, maybe you forgot that Iโ€™ve been here all along and you just tuned me out like the syncytia in your brain that severed your neural networks. Also, the science I post is not somehow all part of a grand conspiracy. The data speaks for itself, even if youโ€™re too stubborn (or too far gone) to hear it.

COVID-19 REINFECTION RATES The information here is derived from multiple studies conducted on the topic. A rate of 64% indicates that out of every 100,000 individuals, 64,000 experienced a reinfection within the past 12 months ! ๐Ÿ˜จ Thanks @DavidJoffe64 for the idea ๐Ÿ’ก
