The first time I ever killed someone in Sims 3 it was an accident. They caught on fire when using the oven and ran around dramatically before collapsing in a burnt pile. It terrified me because I didn’t know even they could die, but also because I was a child. Shortly after their death, the grim reaper Sim appeared to collect the body, which horrified me even more. Then they both disappeared I tried to collect myself and move on but as I reflected on what happened, I began to notice that the terror I experienced was rather exciting. I wondered if the death was some random thing the game did every now and then or… if I could recreate the conditions for it to happen myself… I had developed a taste for Sim blood I began experimenting with rooms filled with ovens, or pools and eventually graduated to basement dungeons. But my own Sims weren’t enough. I needed more. I needed the whole town. I spent ages designing the perfect dungeon for my plan. The first layer, the party layer, was where everyone was to be lured, complete with a buffet table and party decor. The one exit door would be locked once they were inside. The lower level was the boarding room. It had rows of beds, toilets and fridges. The bare necessities to survive. The lowest level was the concrete prison. Small and empty. This was where the party goers would end up. One by one

Not that I have much in the first place, but, I feel like giving away all my possessions. I was saving some things because they had meaning to me but now I feel like I don’t need any of them anymore.

I often times find myself in the space where I am the observer. I am shifting so quickly and yet in this space, I am still. All of these things that come up around me, emotions, questions, I sit with them as though they mean both everything and nothing. I come back to this space quite often as though it has the answers to something that need not an answer. It is a strange but comforting place to be still and moving at the same time. And yet I observe this too. There is something inside me that stretches and grows, though it need not always be seen through the lens of the outside world. I am travelling distances far greater than my own awareness. It brings me here to these new experiences that feel both foreign and at home. There is a familiarity in its presence beckoning me closer to overturn each rock and discover what’s beneath it. I am left in this space of both yearning and accepting what is. Here is fine, here is perfect, yet it calls me deeper into myself because I know there’s more. More to experience, more to feel and see, more to connect to that is me. What a glorious space to be in. I let go and go for the ride.
