@PacificOfRay @PVerijke I understand NATO is an arm of US imperialism, you all could end that. But you don’t, because sovereignty is not as important to you all as guaranteed military defense. (Ukraine). You spend massively on social services as a result, can’t even stomach 1-2% military raises now.

How are we supposed to achieve strategic independence if we continue buying weapons from the United States in order to comply with NATO spending requirements; requirements that were themselves pushed by the United States? This arrangement not only funnels billions of dollars into the American defense industry, helping finance U.S. military interventions abroad, but also ensures that the United States can rely on a broad coalition of allies whenever it faces the consequences of crises that it has, in many cases, helped create itself ?

@PacificOfRay @PVerijke Okay great, so you support the militarization of the EU, so you aren’t reliant on US aid for situations like Ukraine. (You were reliant on US action and aid for that). This will allow the EU to cease pretending to be humanitarian while silently enabling US wars.

We’ve been asking for years to fucking leave NATO ever since it’s just a shithole to please american imperialism around the world and Trump has obviously been proving our point lately. We don’t fucking need the americans if it means being implied in every fucking war you guys cause.

@PacificOfRay @PVerijke The EU acts as a vassal state, precisely. You were all happy to pay the least in military defense until threats. But if you all had the willingness to build a military and had some national pride over your intellectual properties & capabilities, you wouldn’t be here.

That’s exactly the problem. Europe is being told to become more militarily independent, yet billions of euros are being spent on American weapons systems. Translating to billions for the US to bomb other countries and cause more wars. The funniest part is that this was triggered by Trump’s pressure on NATO countries to increase military spending. Just for him to get a larger coalition whenever it decides to project power overseas. That’s not strategic autonomy. That’s dependence.

@PacificOfRay @PVerijke Girl don’t play dumb on European reliance on the US Military and the deterrence it poses. If you don’t want to continue to be vassal states of the US, funding your own military industrial base would deter the US threat you speak of. I personally support EU nationalism
