Today was a warning. And it's only gonna get worse from here. (for some, it will get actually better) Let me explain: It's the largest capitulation day ever. 590,229 traders liquidated ($1.98B). $240 billion worth of crypto gone in hours. Now, we're back over $3.3 trillion mkt cap. BTC reclaimed $100,000. We're back on the track. Bull market intact. The show goes on etc. But in reality many traders lost everything. Completely rekt, 100% money gone. Merely a glimpse into the future. Let's break it down. Simple trend analysis suggests we go way higher. Why? Not because I say so. It's more accurate to use facts, numbers, evidence. 200-day moving average has been rising since 2023. Just look at the factual SMA200 direction - trend is up. There are billions of dollars flowing into crypto. The law of supply and demand. Prices will rise when demand is higher than supply. True - a lot of that is self-fulfilling prophecy. Also, that's simply how trends work. They are mainly amplified by herding instincts. Many cognitive/emotional traps involved in the process: ‣ heuristics ‣ extrapolation errors ‣ overconfidence ‣ hindsight ‣ confirmation ‣ vividness biases These cause irrational decisions, mispricings, bubbles. They'll be reason for giga short squeeze on the way, too. All vertical rallies come from positive feedback loops. And as we climb up, so does the volatility. Volatility is a measure of risk in finance. (ATR or annualised StdDev of monthly returns) By definition, it will climax at the very market peak. Biggest selling volumes, bottomless pit of liquidations. Volatility at top will pretty much murder your portfolio. Ask yourself: Can you survive a day when $BTC nukes $50,000? Can you afford a mistake worth generational wealth? Being at the market top means you're up for such error. You can't predict the direction up/down consistently. Though we can anticipate when volatility will rise. (buy the rumour, sell the news; announcements, FOMC) It's at cycle top where everything will start falling apart. That's when your risk management will save your ass. Or the lack of it will kill your wallet. Simple rule of thumb? Size your positions by ATR. Use protective stops (e.g. 3x ATR from entry). The higher the volatility, the less money you put in. Trump bought 86,000 ETH for $220 million today. It's gonna get wild in the coming weeks. Your only job is to survive.
