I see people claiming that Andor isn't as good as people think, or that "it's not Star Wars,” but I never see a single argument to back that up. It's fine if you personally don't like it, because it's "not your SW". But stop saying that it's a bad show. It's just not for you.

@JadeAtrophis Except that Andor actually is outstanding. As a live-action show. The budget, the performances, the music, the script. Everything is great. I don't think Andor fans are exaggerating. It just is a great show. And I don't know why you have such a big problem with it lol.

You guys have a serious problem where you think Andor is way better than it actually is lmao Like cool your jets Mr "one of the most remarkable TV series ever made about anything"
Marc Burrows@20thcenturymarc

TIL that the worst bits of Star Wars fandom have decided they hate Andor, one of the most remarkable TV series ever made about anything, because it didn’t spend its TV-level budget on CG locations that would have looked dated in five years anyway.

Honestly, all this 'criticism' of Andor is just so pathetic. I feel sorry for the people who convince themselves that it’s a bad show. This is the best SW since the OT, and nothing else even comes close.

"Andor, one of the most remarkable TV series ever made about anything" And this absurdly over-the-top praise is yet another reason to ignore this overhyped Disney show.

@manwhalebird I think it's mostly nostalgia rather than a fair judgment of the film, honestly. But if you like it, that's fine. I also love the PT, but I wouldn't say they're good movies.

@Boongo_15 That and I do like the new worlds, Kamino and Geonosis. And Jango is cool. And seeing Christopher Lee will never cease to make me smile.

No one will ever convince me that Attack of the Clones is even close to The Last Jedi in terms of film quality. Love this movie and have great memories, but it's just not good as a film.

@GWBPatriot The Empire has never been as terrifying as it was in Andor. Literally a single TIE Fighter was more terrifying than an army of stormtroopers in the OT. I belive even Filoni said that it was the most evil thing he ever saw in SW. That's such an absurd take.

The reason Andor is aging poorly for me is because I realized the Empire is insanely incompetent in the show and it ruins the whole "actually evil serious threat" thing In the prison Cassian was through in there were a total of like 30 guards in the entire complex, which was a vital slave labor source for the most important industrial project the Empire was undertaking The Empire sent more soldiers to antagonize Ferrix during Aunt Petunia's funeral because they are mustache twirling saturday morning villains instead of a serious entity

We need more stories like Andor, not just because it's good, but because right wing idiots hated it so much, they are still coming up with hilarious new contrarian takes to this day because they can't grapple with their own ideology being represented as ultimate evil.

@LRBenL "I also watched TLJ again a month ago. I wanted to gouge my eyes out" You can't stand a movie that is actually well written?

@manwhalebird Rewatching AotC is a challenge for me. I almost fell asleep halfway through the movie while rewatching it. It's just boring. The senate scenes, this whole Anakin-Padme arc, the droid factory... it goes on forever and it's visually pretty bad. The only good thing is the score.

@Boongo_15 For me, they're more or less on a similar wavelength: a few good things about them, but there are certainly glaring issues that hold them back. That said, I'm a liiiiittle more inclined to rewatch AotC a few times more than TLJ. It's complicated.

I will die on this hill: comments like this are driven almost entirely by nostalgia. People who grew up with the PT are much less likely to view them objectively. The same is true of me with the OT, and will be true of the generation that grows up with the ST.

The Phantom Menace is a masterpiece compared to soulless Disney slop, I don't care what anyone says soft rebooting star wars especially in the way it was made was bad and a sign of big trouble for the franchise.

Looking at the reactions to this tweet, I can say with certainty that many Star Wars fans haven't seen AotC in a very long time. Also, a single lightsaber fight, a battle, or a planet does not determine the quality of the entire film. The main plot is what matters most here.

If you look at TLJ, it was commercially hugely successful, critically received as one of the best-made SW movies and received top marks from audiences. I genuinely don't understand what else makes a movie 'good'?
Jeb Williams@JebWilliams

@OotyMcTooty @k3r2igh24r49036 lol, no it doesn’t. How much money a movie makes doesn’t factor into the quality of a movie

Wie Disney das Star Wars Franchise ruiniert hat, dürfte in dem Ausmaß ja auch beispiellos sein.
