Here is a relatively long and rambling thread about a recent #ELA #collab unit I rolled out with my #newmedia10 students in @SD20kc . It began with this idea of honing our narrative/story telling skills, and wanting a real audience for the stories my students were creating.

Students have been busy creating their #newmedia 10 books. Looking forward to sharing them in the coming weeks.

@SD20kc When the project wraps up we will be hand-delivering our children's books to the elementary class in Fruitvale.

The elementary class provided criteria to my Grade 10 students. My high school students are tasked with writing & illustrating these books. @SD20kc

This week I rolled out a collab unit between my #newmedia 10 class and an elementary school class taught by a fellow @WKTEP graduate.

@SD20kc Thanks to a recent pro-d session with our District Learning Coordinator, I am now versed in the intricacies of @Adobe Firefly, an #AI tool we will use to illustrate our to-be-created books.

When you are not on the internet much, you being to realize that there is LOTS of life offline.

Recently in my #CLE class students were tasked with showcasing themselves through the use of #looseparts and the Japanese concept of #ikigai. The results were extremely insightful and creative! @SD20kc

@MrBlairsClass I will likely be doing in this in the coming weeks. Not yet though!

Excited to share some #CLE lessons where #looseparts & #ikigai were woven together to create a cohesive unit. It was cool to see my students growth as they explored their passions, strengths, hobbies, etc....
