Katie Traynor was fun-loving and spunky; a fresh Boilermaker graduate, ready for a neonatal nursing career when she unexpectedly passed away. The scholarship her family est. in her memory allows her legacy to carry on through the lives of others pursuing a career in nursing.

The Truitt Family Scholarship values the lessons learned from athletic competition and supports student athlete leaders of West Lafayette High School. The award acknowledges students who are "well-rounded role models," says counselor Libby Sheffield." #50fullcirclestories

Though not a Lafayette native, Sandy Pearlman has immersed herself in this community. Upon his passing, Sandy honored her husband Louis with a fund to benefit the Lafayette Symphony and she's included The Community Foundation in her estate plans, joining our Legacy Society!

Bev Gettings and her late husband, Bill instilled the tradition of philanthropy in their family with the hope that someday their great-grandchildren will carry on the legacy of Gettings giving back in the Greater Lafayette community!

Rick Olson generously established endowments of his own after his eyes were opened to the needs of the community through Leadership Lafayette. He now involves his daughter, Katy, in his philanthropy. Her passion for dance inspired a recent grant to Tippecanoe Arts Federation.

Betty Nelson is a champion of women and a voice for those who need one. The Community Foundation knows her generosity firsthand - her many funds help support local organizations. HomesteadCS recently received a grant to teach 130 families financial literacy. #50fullcirclestories

Jim and Sandy Bodenmiller have fostered a love of local arts and culture in their 50 years living in the Lafayette community. Their endowment with The Community Foundation. Caregiver Companion was a recent recipient of a grant, supporting seniors in our community!

The West Lafayette Tree Friends' new endowment with The Community Foundation provides financial security for the organization - guaranteeing perpetual income even in the most uncertain years!
