The yt-dlp update is out now and downloading YouTube videos with ClipGrab should work again. When you restart ClipGrab, you should get the update prompt now.

@ooans Thanks! You can already download Opus audio with ClipGrab! Just make sure to select the target format "Original (audio only)". On YouTube, this will result in an Opus download most of the time, these days.

@ClipGrab Thank for your great app! However, i'm curious if you will ever offer Opus support with the audio clips? Right now ClipGrab grabs non-opus audio, which means there is not info above 15khz. Thanks! <3

YouTube downloads are currently broken. An update for yt-dlp will probably be out later today. Once you get the update prompt when restarting ClipGrab, you’ll know it’s working again.

Also, there is a bug in Catalina 10.15.7 that makes ClipGrab and other apps crash. You can circumvent it by launching ClipGrab from a Terminal with the following commands: export QTWEBENGINE_CHROMIUM_FLAGS="--disable-gpu" open /Applications/ClipGrab.app

Good news for everyone still on macOS Sierra: The updated 3.9.7. package on clipgrab.org is now working on macOS 10.12 again🍎

ClipGrab 3.9.6 is now available on clipgrab.org. It brings proxy support (HTTP/Socks5) and better compatibility for Windows 7 (old!) and macOS Big Sur (new!).

@baltxweapon You might be missing Python. On Debian-based distros you can install it like this: sudo apt install python

@ClipGrab Hello, I downloaded version 3.9.6 from the website but every time I launch the AppImage it prompts to download yt-dl, and once it finishes it keeps loading and doesn't let me search, and if I input a direct link, it just freezes; is it just me? or it's not working at the time?

@OfflineErik You could "install" it like so: sudo mv ClipGrab-3.9.6-x86_64.AppImage /usr/local/bin/clipgrab Then you can simply launch it as "clipgrab" from a terminal or your Desktop’s application runner.

ClipGrab 3.9.5 brings back H.264 videos (instead of AV1) for YouTube downloads. Slightly larger files, vastly improved compatibility. Get it at clipgrab.org 🖱️

@h4z4 Could you let me know the version of your definitions? I’ll report it to MS but everything was looking fine on my Windows 10 machine and Virustotal also doesn’t show any detections: virustotal.com/gui/url/6743ea…

@ClipGrab I have the German version of Windows. There the antivirus is called "Viren- und Bedrohungsschutz". I added the file+path to "Ausschlüsse" which are not blocked. The best would be if you contact MS to get your file known as not dangerous (I hope so) in the definition update.
