The worst kept secret in non-league football…
We are delighted to confirm that Travis Munn returns to take the reins for the 2026/27 season. 🙌🙌
A familiar face, a proven leader, and someone who knows exactly what this club is about. The gaffer is back — and we’re ready to go again.
Exciting times ahead… 🔥

Blows my mind players would rather sit on the bench each week, get barely next to nothing game time because of the “STEP” football. Your not going to grow/develop as a player sitting on the bench spectating. The love for the game has gone #football #nonleauge #nonleaugefootball

MIDWEEK MATCHES
In the Camper OK Premier South Division Melbourne Dynamo’s resurrection continued with a 6-1 win at Mickleover Reserves. They have now scored fifteen goals in their last three matches as opposed to one in the first three. Scorers on Tuesday night were Jack Goodband with a hat trick, Elliott Dawson, Oliver Grimshaw and Regan Bickerton with Arnold Marimbe replying for the home side. Derby Singh Brothers still lead the table, but only just, as their winning run came to an end at Blidworth Welfare taking a point from a 2-2 draw. It could have been worse, the equaliser coming in the final minute of normal time. Blidworth led in the 14th minute with a goal from Tris Burrell, a lead they held until the end of the half when the visitors levelled through Emmanuel Nnaji. Seven minutes into the second half Dillon Hodgkinson restored Blidworth’s lead, but as their goal led a charmed life in the closing stages, they were denied a first win of the season in the last minute, Mario Gomez finding a gap in a crowded goalmouth to ensure Singhs went home with a share of the points. Borrowash Victoria’s 3-0 win against Gresley Rovers Reserves was effectively settled by half time as Josh Lee’s 5th minute opener was followed by further goals from Oscar Supple on 19 minutes and Ben Hilton a couple of minutes from the interval to keep Vics’ place in the leading group. Holbrook Sports came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Wirksworth Ivanhoe went in front with a James Colebourne penalty, Owen Gorman equalising on the stroke of half time. Lewis Higton restored the visitors’ advantage but again Holbrook fought back, Ewan Barnes with the equaliser nine minutes from time. Cromford & Wirksworth Town beat Holbrook St Michaels 2-0, both goals scored by Joe Geeson.
In the Premier North Dinnington Town reached the top after a 4-1 win at AFC Phoenix who were in front after just 8 minutes, but that was as good as it got for the home team. The lead lasted for just three minutes, Liam Flint with the leveller. Brad Kerr kept up his goal or two a game after half an hour, Nathan Jessop adding a third shortly before half time. To their credit Phoenix restricted their opponents to just one more goal, Connor Peace putting away a penalty in the 68th minute. Two reserve sides met at Sandy Lane Worksop Town edging out Staveley 3-2. The visitors scored the only goal of the first half, James Millar putting the Trojans ahead after 25 minutes. The beginning of the second half brought a flurry of goals. Worksop equalised on 51 minutes through George Jenkinson, the visitors regaining the lead four minutes later with an Alex Coates penalty. It only took a minute for Max Eastwood to put the Tigers on level terms again, the same player slotting home a 68th minute, penalty to seal the win. On Wednesday Harworth Colliery made the short trip to Yorkshire Main, returning with the points after a 3-0 win. They went in front after half an hour. Billy Stafford’s header going in via the underside of the bar. The result was in the balance until the final ten minutes when Rob Singer added a second. Cory Goodwin made it three on 83 minutes again with a header going in off the bar Perhaps Main should consider taking a couple of inches off the posts!!! Hatfield Town also had a local derby at AFC Bentley coming away with a 2-1 win, Gregg Fairhurst and Joe Smith the scorers , Haris Diagabate replying for the hosts.
WEEKEND MATCHES
The shock result on Saturday came at Dinnington Town where the home side suffered a rare defeat, going down 3-2 against RHP Sports who took the lead in the first minute with a Sol Miller penalty., going further ahead on 14 minutes, Clownes Steele the scorer. Dinnington raised their game, top scorer Brad Kerr reducing the deficit with 26 played but the visitors refused to lie down, Kieran Job with a third after half an hour. Dinnington turned on the heat in the second half, Michael Golland reducing the margin just after the hour. Despite consistent pressure, a combination of poor finishing, desperate defending and pure good fortune kept the score unchanged, with a last-minute penalty, well saved by visiting keeper Nathan Davies, the final straw for the hosts. Hatfield Town took the opportunity to go top on goal difference, beating Burngreave United 5-1. Burngreave, beginning their season three weeks after the start, went ahead on 25 minutes Amir Mohamed the scorer, but were behind by the interval, Callum Verhees scoring on 38 minutes and again on the stroke of half time. The second half belonged to Hatfield, Jack Bonser with the third after 55 minutes before Verhees completed his hat trick just after the hour, Mikey Hannon wrapping up the points three minutes after the ninety. Teversal also have 15 points, they squeezed past AFC Phoenix 2-1. The game was goalless until four minutes before the interval, Tyron Macaskill the scorer. Josh Parfitt doubled the lead on 52 minute. Phoenix kept pressing but when their goal did come in the 88th minute, it came too late. Kinsley Boys had a comfortable 4-1 win against Glapwell. There was no score until the 37th minute when ace goal scorer Lucas Stubbs broke the deadlock. Nathan Harrop got a second just before the hour two more in the last minutes as Glapwell pushed forward, Harrop getting his second, Harrison Holland with number four after 88 minutes, leaving just enough time for Ashton Woolley to put Glapwell on the scoreboard. A first win of the season by three clear goals for SJR Worksop at Staveley Reserves, a goal each for Joe Bean, Taylor Thackery and Louis Colley. Another team with a delayed start are Elite AFC who went down 3-2 to Ollerton Town, also recording their first win of the campaign. Ollerton took the lead a minute before the break, Regan Edridge the scorer, Jack Noble with the second ten minutes into the second half. Tobias Burke pulled one back after an hour, but Keegan Burton put them back in control on 69 . Elite ‘s second goal too late to have any effect.
At this early stage of the season, it seems possible that the top end of the table might be as closely fought as the bottom end was last season, who knows. Certainly not me. Saturday’s fixtures included two such matches. Derby Singh Brothers surrendered their unbeaten record to Mickleover RBL, the match ending 2-1. Jordan Lee and Sam Lowe scoring for the Legion, Khaleeq Shaffique replying for Singhs. Graham Street Prims also lost for the first time this season, Borrowash Vics winning 3-0 with two goals from Marcus Tudgay and one for Ben Hilton to go to the top of the table. After a quiet start to the season Blidworth Welfare exploded into life at Bakewell Town’ winning 7-2. James PrentIce’s hat trick was backed up by one each from Alex Green, George Dyson, Kelton Ashby and Aiden Reader. James Handley Sam Rosling with one each for Bakewell. The points were shared at FC Sunnyhill where Gresley Rovers were the visitors, the final score 1-1. Both goals came in the second half, ben Mann scoring for Gresley, Lewis Benjamin for Sunnyhill. Melbourne Dynamo are up to third, their fourth successive win coming against Holbrook St Michaels 3-1. Scorers for Dynamo were Ollie Grimshaw, Regan Bickerton and Jack Goodband, Richard Hanslow with the goal for St Michaels. A single goal in the final minute of the first half from Josh House decided the outcome of Holbrook Sports’ game with Mickleover Reserves in favour of Sports. Friday night’s match saw Cromford & Wirksworth Town come back from the dead to snatch a 3-2 win at Mickleover Athletic. The home side went ahead as early as the 7th minute with a Jak Jays goal followed by a second from Cole Hassell four minutes before the interval. Ben Cartwright’s 35 yard strike provided a way back into the game, which was taken up by Joe Geeson seven minutes before the end and completed by Steve Mallinder with the final kick of the game, leaving Athletic still seeking their first point of the season.
