Troops in Mubi North, backed by local hunters, foiled a terror plot and arrested 3 suspects during a pre-dawn raid. One suspect confessed to a past attack and plans to target a military barracks. God bless our troops 🇳🇬🙏

There was a day my car fell into a hole in Jahi, Abuja. Some Hausa guys came around at first and tried to help push it out, but immediately it didn’t work, they left. I kept struggling on my own, jacking the car, while people passed by and no one stopped to help. After a while, one Igbo guy pulled up and joined me. We tried using my jack but it wasn’t strong enough (na Sienna). Then another Igbo guy showed up with a better jack. With both of them, we finally got the car out of the hole. Before I could even turn to appreciate one of them, he had already driven off, didn’t wait for thanks. The other one I tried to give money, but he refused. That day, it was Igbo strangers who came through for me when I really needed help. I’ll never forget it. 🙏🏽

ASSALĀMU ‘ALAYKUM WARAHMATULLĀHI WABARAKĀTUH Dear brothers and sisters in Islam, This young sister has been found and is currently receiving care at the General Hospital in Lagos. Unfortunately, she has no means of identification, and at the moment she is not speaking or responding properly to treatment, which makes it difficult for the hospital staff to know who she is or how to contact her family. It is possible that someone, somewhere, is looking for her, worried and searching without knowing where she is. Therefore, we humbly appeal to the Muslim community and the general public: if you recognize her or know anyone who might know her family, please reach out immediately. Islam teaches us to care for one another and to assist those in need. The Prophet ﷺ said that whoever relieves a believer of a difficulty in this world, Allah will relieve him of a difficulty on the Day of Judgment. Perhaps sharing this message could be the means of reuniting her with her loved ones. Please help by resharing and repost

The situation with Sunday Igboho’s proposed security network in the South West needs to be looked at through the lens of what happened with the Eastern Security Network and the current deals the government has with Tompolo and Asari Dokubo. Outsourcing national security to private individuals and former agitators, is a recipe for long term disaster. If you look at the Niger Delta, the government has essentially handed over the protection of our most valuable assets to Tompolo’s Tantita Group and Asari Dokubo’s security outfits. While the government claims this has helped oil production, what they have actually done is create a system of state sanctioned private armies. These groups are loyal to their leaders first and the Nigerian state second. Asari Dokubo has already shown how volatile this can be by publicly boasting that his men can do what the Nigerian Army cannot, which undermines the authority of our professional military. This is exactly how the Eastern Security Network started. It began as a volunteer force to protect local farmers from herders because the formal security agencies were failing. But because the ESN was a non state actor with no constitutional oversight, it quickly spiraled into a fullbblown insurgency. It turned the South East into a region of unrest, defined by unknown gunmen and clashes with the military. If we allow Sunday Igboho to lead a massive, independent force of 50,000 volunteers to comb the forests under the banner of "Ija Ekun Security Alert," we are essentially building a South West version of the ESN. Supporters claim this new group is legitimate because it is duly registered like Asari Dokubo’s firm, but this is a dangerous legal fallacy. Registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission as a business is not a license to operate as a paramilitary force. Under the Private Guard Companies Act, registered security firms are strictly forbidden from carrying firearms or performing the tactical duties of the Police and Army. A business certificate is not a mandate to comb forests or engage in combat. By using registration as a shield for a private army, these actors are attempting to bypass the constitutional monopoly the state holds over the use of force. The biggest risk is that these groups lack accountability. Unlike the police or even the Amotekun corps which is backed by state laws and answerable to the Governor, a private volunteer group answers only to a charismatic leader. There is no vetting process, no human rights training, and no clear chain of command. When a private citizen creates an organization to protect every corner of Yorubaland, they are creating a parallel government. If the Federal Government allows this, they lose the moral and legal authority to stop any other group from doing the same. History in Nigeria shows that these protection groups often turn into political thuggery or protection rackets. Once the government gives an activist the power to run a security network, they are creating a strongman who can eventually hold the entire region to ransom if the government stops paying or tries to regulate them. Instead of franchising security to individuals, the government needs to strengthen existing legal structures like Amotekun or fast track the State Police reforms. We cannot solve today’s insecurity by creating the armed liabilities of tomorrow. If we continue down this path of hiring activists to do the job of the state, we aren't bringing peace, we are just waiting for the next region to explode into unrest once these private deals go sour.

The Alex dude is not even bright. Just look at. He gives himself away far too easily. Imagine boasting that you are being secured by the same Nigerian security forces you claim can’t secure Nigerians. I was going to say I’m surprised he’s the choice for this operation, but again, America doesn’t even need to send their brightest to Nigeria because they know exactly the kind of people they are dealing with in Nigerians. People who have eternal beef with critical thinking.

The image is reported to be from Khan Younis beach in Gaza, where Palestinian students particularly high school students are taking their Tawjihi (final exams). Due to the ongoing conflict, nearly 97% of schools in Gaza have been destroyed or severely damaged, forcing the Ministry of Education to arrange makeshift exam centers in tents, on beaches, and in open areas.
