Here’s the problem. I lived in MS for a while. Also worked most of Virginia. It used to be. Sure. Basic argument that ends all: No southern state willingly allows their guns to be taken away. VA is actively doing that. Call yourself whatever you want. SW VA is. From gate city to Grundy. You get east and the culture is Not of the south.

Boy, go back to Tennessee. You barely get a say anyway. I'm born and raised in Mississippi. It doesn't get more Southern than that. Virginia is the South. Just don't go to the annoying DC parts. That barely counts as Virginia to begin with. Unless you want to acknowledge that you can either be Appalachian or Southern, not both, but I don't think you want to go down that road with a UT profile pic.
