Much as I am in denial about this (don't leave us Sam!), we are recruiting at @UMHANUK for a new Charity Manager. umhan.com/pages/work-for… Lots of exciting things in progress for the charity in the year ahead, and some awesome members to support, get applying!

@BeyNaveed I hope your daughter is starting to feel more settled. If not please do encourage her to contact the uni wellbeing/counselling/mental health team for some transitional support, and to let her academic advisor/personal tutor know early on that she is finding the move hard.

@KarenJBateson @Oxpip and some research suggests that fathers can particularly provide this experience in the home setting, a big gap in lots of attachment/trauma based literature (of course mothers also provide this, and fathers provide 'safe base' experiences too)

💡 I’ve just learned @oxpip that childhood play serves a *survival* function in all mammals, thought to be because play allows children to experience stress in a safe way & therefore build resilience & be better equipped. Direct link right there between play & mental health. 💡

@NIHR_ARC_NENC @CumbriaCC @Healthwatchcumb @CumbriaCVS Currently recruiting for fathers as participants in my study. 12 sessions of free Art Therapy. Early research highlights that fathers need to be included in all conversations around mental health, and specialist rurally located services are needed for both mams and dads.

We'd love to hear from more mental health/parental support/social & family services commissioners in our region - to get involved in shaping the toolkit. We'd especially like to hear from those in the Cumbria region @CumbriaCC @Healthwatchcumb @CumbriaCVS @CreatingDads

#MaternalMentalHealthAwarenessWeek highlights issues mums can face with mental health during & after pregnancy. Mams from our region share their stories & explain how they're involved in a new project to improve access to specialist mental health care 👇 arc-nenc.nihr.ac.uk/news/parent-in…

@hannah_thelakes That's fantastic news! So great to have it out of the way before Christmas, and huge to not get any corrections, so you can feel confident about your ability in research at this level!
