Tragic bodycam footage from December 2023 shows the final moments of 26-year-old Jean DesCamps shortly before he overdosed and died.
DesCamps was discharged by a doctor who said he was ‘playing possum’.
“There is no medical reason for him to be here anymore, and it’s all behavioral,” one staff member can be heard telling officers.
After transporting DesCamps out of the hospital, the officers felt uncomfortable and decided to take him to another hospital.
While they waited for staff to retrieve him outside the new hospital, it became apparent that DesCamps wasn’t breathing.
CPR was performed, but despite efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead.

A homeless man was discharged from an Oregon hospital while he was suffering from an overdose because the doctor thought he was “playing possum.” The man died in the back of a police car, shortly after being discharged.
Jean DesCamps (26) was admitted to Providence Milwaukie Hospital in Milwaukee, Oregon, after being found by police covered in feces on a Portland’s MAX Light Rail. He admitted to police he had used drugs and was in pain.
Doctors treated DesCamps but never ordered a toxicology report.
Around 9:45 p.m. hospital security asked police to remove DesCamps for “𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭” and refusing to leave. Police showed up and found him “𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠” and not able to move.
A doctor told police that DesCamps was “𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐦” and he was medically cleared to leave.
DesCamps was declared dead at 11:31 p.m. The State Medical Examiner's office determined he died from a drug overdose and contributing natural causes.

The #Gryderhouse,1960 by #BruceGoff is a 2 story, futuristic, orchid inspired building. Its concave roof extends into pointed cantilevered overhangs.The purple exterior echos the tones in the surrounding trees. #AustinPowers would approve! #modernarchitecture #designthinking

#BruceGoff’s masterwork was the #BavingerHouse, 1950. The 96 ft long logarithmic sandstone spiral coiled around a steel pole from which he suspended the roof, the stairs & living areas. The ground floor featured an indoor water garden. Sadly demolished in 2016. #architecture

The Tulsa Club's designed by Bruce Goff in 1927 was filled with exuberant interiors, zigzag, waterfall plaster & tilework. The lavish, Grand Ballroom occupied the top floor. By 1994 it sat abandonned & vandalised & until its sensitive renovation from 2015-19. #designthinking

The Boston Avenue United Methodist Church,Tulsa, Oklahoma,1929 is an Art Deco gem. Credited to Adah Robinson & Bruce Goff, it consists of a semicircular auditorium, & soaring tower. The tower's crockets & finials represent two hands raised in prayer.#architecture #designthinking
