Baha’i Citizen Sara Sepehri Arrested in Shiraz Yesterday, Sara Sepehri, a Baha’i resident of Shiraz, was arrested by security forces and taken to an undisclosed location. At the same time, both her residence and her mother’s home were searched, during which a number of her personal and digital belongings were confiscated. A source close to the family confirmed the news to HRANA, stating: “Ms. Sepehri was arrested yesterday by security agents at her residence. Simultaneously, both her home and her mother’s home were searched. During the search, all of her electronic devices, as well as personal and work-related items, were seized.”The source further added: “The agents broke down the front door in order to enter Ms. Sepehri’s home. Her mother also lives with a disability and requires continuous care. In addition, Sara Sepehri is under medical supervision, and the stress caused by the situation, combined with concern for her mother, could put her health at risk.” As of the time of this report, no information has been obtained regarding the reasons for her arrest, her place of detention, or the charges brought against this Baha’i citizen. Over the past decade, the Baha’i community in Iran has been subjected to more security and judicial pressure than any other religious minority. ‌یورش نیروهای سپاه به منزل یک زوج بهایی در شیراز؛ سه عضو یک خانواده بازداشت شدند در ادامه برخوردهای امنیتی با شهروندان بهایی، روز ۱۲ فروردین‌ماه حوالی ساعت ۱۱ صبح، نیروهای سپاه پاسداران بدون ارائه حکم قضایی به منزل «بهزاد بصیری» و «ماندانا ستوده» در شیراز یورش بردند و پس از تفتیش کامل منزل و ضبط لوازم الکترونیکی، این دو نفر را بازداشت و به مکان نامعلومی منتقل کردند. بر اساس این گزارش، در زمان ورود مأموران، بهزاد بصیری در منزل حضور داشته اما ماندانا ستوده در خانه مادرش بوده است. نیروهای امنیتی پس از بازداشت بهزاد، برای بازداشت ماندانا به منزل مادر او نیز مراجعه کرده‌اند. همچنین سه روز پیش از این واقعه، در تاریخ ۹ فروردین‌ماه، «مهسا ستوده» خواهر ماندانا نیز توسط نیروهای سپاه بازداشت شده بود. مأموران در آن زمان نیز اقدام به تفتیش منزل کرده بودند، اما با وجود این، در جریان بازداشت اخیر، منزل بار دیگر مورد بازرسی قرار گرفته است. تا لحظه تنظیم این گزارش، اطلاعاتی درباره دلایل بازداشت، محل نگهداری و وضعیت این افراد منتشر نشده و بی‌خبری از سرنوشت آنان، نگرانی خانواده و نزدیکانشان را افزایش داده است. #ماندانا_ستوده #بهزاد_بصیری #مهسا_ستوده #داستان_ما_یکیست #بهائیان_ایران

Pejman Zare Arrest in Shiraz by Security Agents following Raid of His Home On Sunday morning, 15 March 2026, security agents of the Ministry of Intelligence raided the home of Mr. Pejman Zare, a Bahá’í residing in Shiraz. During the operation, officers searched and ransacked his home, subsequently arresting Mr. Zare and taking him into custody. A number of Mr. Zare’s personal belongings, including electronic devices belonging to him and his wife, as well as their religious books, were confiscated. Following his arrest, the agents proceeded to his father’s residence, located close by. They photographed the premises and carried out a search there as well. At the time of the arrest, no one else was present at Pejman Zare’s home. Had some relatives not arrived by chance, no one would have been aware of his detention. On the day following Mr. Zare’s arrest, intelligence agents raided his workplace, detained his business partner and took him to an unknown location. بازداشت بهزاد یزدانی و رومینا خزعلی، زوج بهائی در شیراز در ادامه فشارها بر شهروندان بهائی، بهزاد یزدانی و همسرش رومینا خزعلی، زوج بهائی ساکن شیراز، توسط نیروهای اطلاعات سپاه بازداشت شده‌اند. به گفته یک فرد مطلع نزدیک به خانواده، شامگاه شنبه ۸ فروردین‌ماه، مأموران اطلاعات سپاه با مراجعه به منزل این خانواده، پس از تفتیش و ضبط لپ‌تاپ‌ها و تلفن‌های همراه اعضای خانواده، بهزاد یزدانی را بازداشت کردند. وی عصر روز ۹ فروردین طی تماسی کوتاه اطلاع داده که به زندان عادل‌آباد شیراز منتقل شده است. بر اساس این گزارش، ماموران در همان شب سه بار به منزل مراجعه کرده‌اند. در نخستین مراجعه، با معرفی خود به‌عنوان مامور کلانتری و به بهانه حضور «دزد در پشت‌بام»، وارد منزل پدر و مادر سالمند همسر آقای یزدانی شده و آنان را وادار کرده‌اند با وی تماس بگیرند. در مراجعه دوم، آقای یزدانی بازداشت شده و در سومین مراجعه، پس از حضور همسر و فرزندان، وسایل الکترونیکی اعضای خانواده ضبط شده است. این منبع همچنین افزود که بعدازظهر یک‌شنبه ۹ فروردین، حدود ۱۰ مأمور برای چهارمین بار به منزل این خانواده و همچنین منزل والدین خانم خزعلی یورش برده و به مدت حدود چهار ساعت به تفتیش محل پرداخته‌اند. در جریان این یورش، کتاب‌ها، عکس‌های دینی و حافظه‌های دیجیتال ضبط شده و رومینا خزعلی نیز با ایجاد رعب و وحشت و در حضور فرزندان نوجوانش بازداشت و به مکانی نامعلوم منتقل شده است. به گفته این فرد مطلع، رفتار ماموران با ایجاد فضای ترس و تهدید همراه بوده، به‌طوری‌که پسر نوجوان این خانواده که سابقه مشکلات تنفسی داشته، دچار حمله اضطرابی شده است. همچنین ماموران دختر ۱۴ ساله ایشان را مورد بازجویی قرار داده و وسایل شخصی خانواده و حتی میهمانان را نیز بررسی و در مواردی ضبط کرده‌اند. تا زمان تنظیم این گزارش، هیچ اطلاعاتی درباره اتهامات مطرح‌شده علیه این زوج در دست نیست، هرچند گفته شده ماموران در جریان بازرسی‌ها به «عضویت در فرقه ضاله بهائی» استناد کرده‌اند. #داستان_ما_یکیست #بهاییان_ایران #گفتگو_توانا

Statement of the Baha'i International Community at the interactive dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on human rights in Iran and the Fact-Finding Mission on Iran at the 61st Session of the UN Human Rights Council. “ Mr. President, since 1979, every time a crisis has struck Iran, Iranian authorities, instead of addressing the country's challenges and the causes of the crisis, have scapegoated one of their most vulnerable populations, the Baháʼís, Iran's largest non-Muslim religious minority. Since the January protests, this pattern has continued. Iran State media broadcast forced confessions, spread fabricated accusations, and intensified propaganda against the Baháʼís. All to justify the persecution against them, to shift blame and public anger towards the Baháʼís, to fuel suspicion and hostility against an entire community. The Baha'i in Iran have tolerated every human rights violation imaginable, and yet have never acted with violence, never compromised on their principles of peacefulness, nor resorted to the unjust and hateful tactics of their oppressors. Their record of refusing to deny their faith shows their commitment to their principles. Their desire for their rights is so they can contribute to the welfare of a country they hold dear to their hearts. Scapegoating a religious minority in times of crisis is a dangerous strategy. It legitimizes discrimination. The propaganda has also been accompanied by arrests, imprisonments, confiscation of properties, economic restrictions, and ongoing threats. Special Rapporteur, what responsibility does the government of Iran bear to ensure state institutions and media do not incite hostility against religious minorities, particularly during times of national crisis and conflict? Afshin Heiratian, Child Labor Rights Defender, Remains Imprisoned in Tehran It was learned on 23 February 2026 that Mr. Afshin Heiratian, a 45-year-old Bahá’í theatre artist, and prominent defender of child labor rights, remains incarcerated more than three months after his arrest. His bail was raised from five billion to seven billion tomans but has not been accepted. Mr. Heiratian faced severe threats during interrogation and legal proceedings. Security agents of the Islamic Republic in Tehran arrested him violently at his mother’s home on 11 November 2025, following a court order from District 33, and transferred him to an unknown location. The agents also searched the residence and confiscated personal belongings belonging to Mr. Heiratian and his family. His mother, despite her own health challenges, continues to pursue her son’s case but has been consistently met with silence and harassment from the authorities. Psychological Torture of Adib Shahbazpour: Brother’s Testimony On 19 January 2026, Mr. Adib Shahbazpour, a Bahá’í resident of Kerman, was arrested by security forces. Following his arrest, he was held for 27 days in an undisclosed location by the IRGC Intelligence, before being transferred to Kerman Prison. During this time, no official charges were announced, and Mr. Shahbazpour was denied any family visits or access to legal counsel. His brother, in a post on social media platform X, revealed concerning details about Adib’s detention. He wrote: "My brother Adib spent 27 days in IRGC Intelligence detention centre before being moved to prison... 27 days in an unknown location... without visitation rights... without even being officially told why he was arrested or what the charges are!" “Adib spent the entire period in solitary confinement, and his brief phone calls with the family were made ‘under pressure and threats,’ during which he was forced to say that he was fine and not alone.” The post emphasized that while physical torture may not have occurred, "the real torture is the one that destroys the soul." He described "threats, humiliation, character assassination, the forced shaving of his head, intense psychological pressure, and coercion to make forced confessions" as part of the treatment Mr. Shahbazpour endured. Continued Uncertainty Surrounding the Detention of Bahá’í Artist Payam Faridian in Mashhad Payam Faridian, a Bahá’í and artist specializing in pottery and photography, remains in a state of uncertainty at Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad, twenty days after his arrest. Despite repeated visits by his family to the Mashhad Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office, no clear information has been provided regarding the charges brought against him. Mr. Faridian was detained by security forces on 22 January 2026 and has been denied access to legal counsel. Payam Faridian has been arrested solely because of his Bahá’í faith. His family remains deeply concerned about his case and the conditions of his detention. Mr. Faridian spends most of his time at his pottery workshop. Rojin Hoseininejad Granted Medical Leave from Kerman Prison Amid Severe Health Concerns It was learned on 10 February 2026 that Ms. Rojin Hoseininejad, a 20-year-old Bahá’í who underwent surgery at age two months and currently suffers from cirrhosis of the liver, was arrested at her home on 24 January 2026 and subsequently transferred to Kerman Prison on 28 January 2026.
