We used to hear this kind of naive thing from that guitar-strumming college roommate who read lots of Chomsky but failed Econ 101. It’s the same one who perpetually smelled of patchouli, spent most of his time at protests and considers himself a “tortured artist.”
Sometimes, these types mature once life administers a few hard lessons in trade-offs and human nature. After getting their first job, first mortgage, see taxes evaporate, watch government programs waste billions, they quietly go delete their old cringe Reddit posts.
The ones who don't end up writing shit like this:

🇯🇵😂 The most Japanese celebration ever
After Japan’s 2–2 draw against the Netherlands, fans rushed onto Tokyo’s famous Shibuya Crossing to celebrate.
For exactly 40 seconds.
Why? Because the pedestrian light was green.
As soon as it turned red, everyone stopped celebrating and obediently moved back to the sidewalks.
Even in the middle of a spontaneous football celebration, the Japanese still refused to break traffic rules.

This is the first case of its kind in UK criminal justice history.
A Derbyshire officer allegedly used AI to fabricate evidential material across multiple cases not one. The Crown Prosecution Service is now reviewing every conviction those cases touched.
Three days ago, the UK government announced PoliceAI.
£140 million. a national AI centre for policing. 40 new facial recognition vans. AI tools for every force in England and Wales by 2027. the official goal: "get responsible AI into the hands of officers."
Three days later: criminal investigation into an officer for using AI to manufacture evidence.
the interim director of PoliceAI put out a statement today.
"our work is rooted in transparency."
97% of all criminal investigations in the UK now involve digital evidence. that's this year's figure.
AI is already being used to summarise case files, triage evidence, and assist with disclosure.
one officer already used it to manufacture evidence across multiple cases.
