Rudra is the one who introduces Kairi to Dark Machine. She founded Carbuncle, runs the ship-café where the team gathers, and acts as their trainer. For reasons not yet revealed, she guides players despite being unable to play the game herself.

Now to our Dark Machine team again. Carbuncle is the team where Kairi ends up after arriving in Chiba City. Kairi, a newcomer with raw instinct. Shin, a proven but volatile genius. Bran, a strategist holding the balance. Dark Machine is as much about team dynamics as raw skill.

The game shown in the anime isn’t confined to the story. Dark Machine is being developed as a real, large-scale mech action shooter, built around the same team battles and machine classes seen on screen. Early footage hints at the scale they’re aiming for.

Bran is the one keeping Carbuncle from falling apart. Intelligent, meticulous, and highly focused, she mediates between the clashing personalities of Kairi and Shin - even while struggling to trust others herself. In Dark Machine, she fights as a precision-based sniper, where patience and control decide the outcome.

Riho Sugiyama #杉山里穂 voices Bran. A sniper with a bird’s-eye view inside Dark Machine - calm, precise, always watching the field. She guides the team in the game, and looks after them in real life too… though there’s a quiet darkness in her past that hasn’t surfaced yet.

Shinn is already a core member of Carbuncle when Kairi arrives. A sharp-tongued genius with elite skill, he sees Kairi as an annoyance at first - a rookie who doesn’t belong. Shin hates losing more than anyone, and when the match reaches its most critical moment, that pressure becomes his greatest weakness...

Kairi begins the story completely outside the Dark Machine world. Raised in isolation on a small island in Chiba, he loses his grandfather and follows his final words into Chiba City - where he encounters the game and the team Carbuncle. With no prior experience, Kairi is pulled into Dark Machine and begins to grow through instinct, adaptability, and relentless pressure🔜🔥
