@AliceCHughes @JSandersonCO @cnt4collabcons Certainly mistakes or issues happen like you mention, and we understand that. But it's typically easy to use the "schedule-send" function, and we do.

@JSandersonCO @DayerLab @cnt4collabcons this is better, sometimes the timer will not work (some email platforms you need to be connected to the internet at the scheduled send time) so if you are travelling/in the field/other timezones People do not have to respond but should not dictate when other people send emails

Our Lab has a new policy (after an informal transition) to only send emails during "business hours" & on wkdays. Emails at other times should be scheduled for 8am the next morning (or after wknd/holiday). Exceptions ok for emergencies or deadlines, but should be infrequent.

Yes, in some fields this would be an odd thing to have to announce or make a policy. #AcademicTwitter

It's always great to see people finishing their degrees and celebrating in the regalia. But I couldn't find the line of reasoning for myself to justify spending $1000 on robes and pictures (no departmental grad when I finished). Any other academics with a degree and no robes?
