I brought some petha back from India (candied wintermelon, which they call ash gourd), to compare with the Chinese equivalent. And holy smokes, the petha is MUCH sweeter- more like a sugar cube with the merest filigree of melon. Quite different sweets, but both delicious. ๐

Words matter.
The aim of the legislation for UK Graduate Prioritisation is to reduce competition ratios.
When public commentary fuels division, it harms the very workforce our health system relies on.
Skill, professionalism and patient care - not nationality or place of qualification - are what make a great doctor.
Respect should never be optional. We expect more from our politicians.

Many overseas-trained doctors work incredibly hard to relearn systems, retrain where needed, and grow within the NHS.
It is unfair to generalise, and comments like this only encourage prejudice.

A tragic road accident on the Mohaddipur flyover in #Gorakhpur has claimed the life of Aakash Pandey, a 3rd-year MBBS student of BRD Medical College. He belonged to lower middle class family and was the only son, carrying the hopes and dreams of his entire family. According to reports, a speeding car rammed into two scooters and a bike. Aakash Pandey died on the spot, while two others were critically injured and rushed to AIIMS. Sadly, one of them later succumbed to injuries. The accused driver is reportedly politically well-connected and has multiple traffic challans for overspeeding and other violations. The law must act without fear or influence. Justice must prevail. #JusticeForAakashPandey
