Drake University Club Baseball

The offensive attack on the day was led by Juniors Jaxon Hicks and Franklin Wohnoutka. Hicks was 5 for 7 on the day with a sac fly, and Wohnoutka drove in 4 runs on the day. This concludes the fall season for the Dawgs, back in action March 7th against Lewis!

Bulldogs start the 25-26 Division campaign with a split against Maryville in St. Louis. Cole Nouzum goes the complete game in the game 1 5-1 loss. After allowing a 9 run first, Jack Flanagin came into the game and shut the door for the next 7 as the bulldogs win in extras 14-12.

Dawgs end the year going 0-2 in playoffs in Mauston, WI. While a disappointing end, we couldn’t dream of a better first year! Finishing (11-8, 10-4), and the first ever playoff appearance in school history. Thanks to seniors Will Franck and Jackson Kilburg; we will be back!

Wake up Des Moines it’s gameday! Come out to Lew Clarkson Park in Johnston for a conference doubleheader against the Augustana Vikings. We need the support as we are making our final playoff push!

Series W! Bulldogs win the rubber match at conference leader Loyola 13-7 today. Emmett McMenamy shoved for 6 innings before Colin Kriz came in to shut it down in the 7th. Franklin Wohnoutka led with 4 RBIs in a day where everyone hit. Back at it next weekend vs Augustana!

Bulldogs split at Loyola to start the series. Game 1 got away and ended with a 15-5 lopsided loss. In game 2, Colin Kriz shoved a complete game 1 hit shutout in a 6-0 win. Rubber match tomorrow at 10 am.

Game 3 against DePaul today was cut short by Mother Nature. In grueling wet and cold conditions DePaul took a 7-4 lead through the 5th before the game was called. Score this as a W for the Blue Demons. Dawgs are back in action next Saturday at 1pm with an exhibition DH @ Cownie

Two big wins for the Bulldogs today! Will Franck went the distance in game 1, throwing a complete game two-hitter, leding us to a 12-2 victory, In game 2. Colin Kriz took the mound and shoved for 5 and 1/3, while Emmett McMenamy came in and closed the door in a 6-4 W. #godawgs
