Week 12 Weekly Recap!

I am proud to support a series of Democratic proposals focused on strengthening worker protections and boosting economic security for Iowans. At a time when costs are rising and uncertainty is growing, lawmakers should be working to help Iowa families get ahead.

Last Friday, Rep. Wilson and I had the opportunity to tour the Bethany Lutheran Food Pantry with Ronda Anderson. This food pantry is making great strides in our community, and I look forward to watching as it continues to make a positive impact for their many neighbors.

Iowa’s correctional officers deserve our support and the ability to bargain for safe working conditions in overcrowded prisons. That’s why Iowa House Democrats supported legislation to ensure they have those protections.

Young children learn best through hands-on experiences. That’s why I championed legislation requiring play-based learning for preschool and kindergarten students.

In a weather emergency, restoring power quickly can be the difference between safety and serious risk for Iowa families. Yesterday, I voted to make sure that Iowans can keep the lights on.

Representative Elizabeth Wilson and I will be at Trading Grounds Coffee this Saturday, February 28th for our first "Coffee and Conversation" of the 2026 Legislative Session. We will be there from 3 pm to 4 pm. We would love to hear from you on the issues that matter most to you.

Week 7 Weekly Recap!

Iowa House Republicans took away more local control from counties and cities today under the guise of public safety. I work full-time as a police officer and I can tell you from my experience it is not for public safety.

We’ve fought for a five year tuition freeze at Iowa’s state universities, and yesterday I voted to make it happen. Iowa families deserve certainty when planning for college.
