Dear Mr. President(@realDonaldTrump), On behalf of the Freedom for Iran Solidarity Council (F2ISC), whose mission is to strengthen civic solidarity and support transition and post‑transition planning toward a lawful, accountable government, I write with deep respect and urgency as nationwide protests in Iran continue to be met with systematic and lethal repression by the Islamic Republic. Credible reporting from inside the country and from international observers documents the use of deadly force, mass arrests, and widespread abuse. Despite severe constraints on verification, unofficial estimates indicate that the death toll exceeds twelve thousand—an unmistakable marker of a grave humanitarian emergency. The situation in Iran is not driven by economic grievances, nor should it be reframed through parallel files such as the nuclear issue. It is a human security crisis. The clear and consistent demand from the streets is the end of the Islamic Republic and the establishment of a lawful, accountable political system grounded in the rule of law and the popular will. Diverting focus from this core demand only prolongs violence against civilians. We affirm without reservation the principle of self‑determination: the Iranian people will decide their own political future. We have consistently opposed military action against our country and have long maintained that Iran’s democratic future must be achieved by its own people. Yet today, as the regime treats civilians as enemies and confronts them with organized violence, Iranians are asking for external support to survive this moment and to end the machinery of repression. This request does not transfer authority over Iran’s future to any external power; it calls for urgent measures necessary to end mass civilian harm and ensure that the Iranian people can reclaim their future. As the world’s leading power, the United States possesses unique capacity and a widely recognized responsibility to confront grossly inhumane conduct. In that spirit, a majority of the Iranian people are asking for decisive and urgent targeted military action against the regime’s strategic premises, aimed at protecting civilians and bringing an end to the regime’s machinery of lethal repression, while avoiding harm to national infrastructure and assets essential to Iran’s future under a lawful and accountable government. We recognize that U.S. security institutions possess substantial intelligence visibility into the Islamic Republic’s coercive apparatus and its patterns of lethal repression; we respectfully urge that this awareness be used to advance civilian protection and meaningful accountability.
