@TrackTacticsHQ Thank you.
Christian Taylor isn’t in the same league as Carl Lewis. Flo jo’s records should be annulled. Jonathan Edwards was far more consistent over a number of years than Flo Jo or Powell. You have a good day too bud.
@FPLShawcus So by your metrics, Flo Jo is the GOAT over the 100m, not Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce. Mike Powell is the GOAT of the Long Jump, not Carl Lewis.
Have a wonderful day ahead.
The greatest triple jumper of all time, Christian Taylor 🇺🇸 soared to 18.21m at the 2015 Worlds, where he claimed the title
The 2nd-best jump in history, just 8cm shy of the WR
He holds the record for the most legal 18m+ jumps (4), with 3 coming in 2015
@FPLShawcus Christian Taylor not being the WR holder doesn’t reduce his greatness.
Greatness is dominance, consistency, and titles, not just records. His World titles and Olympic golds speak for him.
Edwards' dominance was not in any way close to Taylor's. Taylor is the true GOAT.
Really peeing me off that commentator saying it's only a matter of time before Werro breaks the WR.. err, no WR is a 'matter of time'!..and no mention of Keely. A week ago it was her FIRST 800 of the season...and in a new NR! Ffs
@TrackTacticsHQ This is fucking bollocks. These times are unreal and reminds me of the Chinese middle distance runners of the early to mid 90s. And the eastern bloc athletes of the 70s/80s. Sorry but something doesn’t sit right at all.
Men's 400m all-time list
🇿🇦 Wayde Van Niekerk - 43.03s (2016)
🇺🇸 Michael Johnson - 43.18s (1999)
🇺🇸 Butch Reynolds - 43.29s (1988)
🇳🇬 Samuel Ogazi - 43.38s (2026) 🆕
Ogazi's time is the fastest time ever recorded in the 400m after a decade.
I know its always hard to compare players from different era’s but from Englands 1986 & 1990 World cup squads, how many of them could play at the top level in today’s game?
1986 🇲🇽
❌ Peter Shilton
❌ Gary Mabbutt Stevens
❌ Kenny Sansom
✅ Glenn Hoddle
❌ Alvin Martin
❌ Terry Butcher
✅ Bryan Robson
❌ Ray Wilkins
❌ Mark Hateley
✅ Gary Lineker
✅ Chris Waddle
❌ Viv Anderson
❌ Chris Woods
❌ Terry Fenwick
❌ Gary A. Stevens
❌ Peter Reid
❌ Trevor Steven

1990 🇮🇹
Only Gascoigne, Seaman & Platt to be added alongside those already mentioned above
Possibly Des Walker but I’d need convincing, rest go in the bin.
@Ramma_____ No I agree with that, especially the 1990 version, he was well past it by that stage. I just thought your list was stating that these players wouldn’t perform in the modern game, when the best versions of some/most of them, probably would. Just my opinion though bud.
@FPLShawcus Fair point, i only seen Shilton from 86 onwards as per the tweet & that version of him would struggle in the modern game for reasons already stated
@Ramma_____ Fair enough. I don’t agree with who you’ve left out but it’s all opinions. For example, when Forest win the league and 2 European cups in the late 70s, Shilton was the best keeper in the world in my opinion. Could we say the same about Pickford at any stage of his career?
