Fencing work along this stretch of the River Nene @NeneParkPboro is to protect the watercourse from pollution & erosion. Vegetation along the bank helps stabilise soil & filter run-off. Some poaching on open grassland provides vital bird habitat, e.g. Heron Meadow, Ferry Meadows

This is good news that all farmers in England will get catchment sensitive farming advice instead of the postcode lottery that currently happens. Hopefully the grant funding will be available for all farmers also so everyone can make a difference.
