Next time he would say, ‘Cristiano scored two goals.’ Still no excitement. They would just say, ‘That is really nice, Cris.’ So what could I do? I just kept scoring and scoring. You have to come see him play.’ But before every match I would still look to the sidelines and see my dad standing there alone. When I was eleven I moved from the island to Sporting’s academy in Lisbon, and it was the most difficult time of my life."
