I've deleted the japanese gradient pack I was giving away earlier today since being accused of stealing another designers' work. So let me give it to you straight. Yes, I gave a free collection of japanese-style gradients away on X today that I curated, and made, myself in Figma. No, they were not from @nuevo_tokyo. You can see my working Figma file below and where my inspiration came from (a collection of gradients on Pinterest that I, myself, curated). Simply because Nuevo Tokyo sells a $5 wallpaper pack of Japanese gradients, does not mean he owns the rights to them, nor can anyone else distribute japanese-inspired gradients themselves. This notion is ridiculous, and I'd imagine is, ironically, the same folks bashing Figma for trademarking "dev mode". I realize the internet rarely likes to "think" and instead would rather lob accusations at others because it's fun, but there you have it.

@darylginn I am a huge fan of your work, and I was using Godly pretty often, but after the design update, it is unusable. I don't know what is new, what I saw already, where it starts, or where it ends. The navigation is just terrible. 😢

I was about to write a post about the tool I think aspiring designers should learn, and then thought to myself - why am I not learning it? So yeah, I am gonna learn Rive. And you should, too.

Does submitting your project to all those directories make a difference? Most of them just have shitty DA, and it takes a lot of time 🫠

@upen946 Not only do you not need a perfect idea. Doesn’t need to be unique either. You have a better chance with something that’s already out there. Just make it better/different.

To build a profitable SaaS, You don’t need a perfect idea. You just need to start, get feedback, and keep iterating.
