@Freefall They are an active (amplified) GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou and thus Iridium as they are all around 1.6 Ghz. Its a big RHCP (right hand circular polarization) patch antenna with some filtering and signal boosting gear inside. Testing a bunch of antennas to get the 'best'.
