People really forget how autoplay works. If a song comes on, listeners choose to skip it or keep it. Spotify doesn’t recommend songs people don’t listen to. Yes, a track can get autoplay promotion, but it only stays there because people don’t skip it. Artists don’t pay for autoplay. Spotify pushes songs that are already popular, and at the end of the day, listeners decide what they want to hear.
