We checked in practice how the large scale game works on once popular video cards from GTX 1060 to RX 5700 XT paired with older processors. The developers did a great job optimizing the updated engine for weak systems. A flexible resource streaming system and competent load distribution help avoid sharp drops and freezes even with an acute shortage of video memory on outdated devices. At the same time the system requirements remain quite severe. For a comfortable playthrough at high graphics settings you will have to actively use the balanced FSR scaling mode and the total RAM consumption of the entire system can reach an impressive 20 gigabytes. #DeathStranding2 #Benchmarks #Hardware #PCGaming #FSR

At the same time the built in regeneration system from AMD produces a much sharper and detailed picture in dynamics. The main discovery was the incredibly high hardware requirements when activating maximum graphics settings and ray tracing in 4K resolution. The chart data shows that physically correct reflections and shadows put a colossal load on the system. Only one video card on the market was able to deliver the coveted 60 frames per second in native resolution without upscalers and that turned out to be the flagship GeForce RTX 5090. The rest of the graphics accelerators could not overcome this bar of comfortable gameplay. Graphics parameter analysis revealed an incredibly heavy setting that critically hits the frame rate. It turned out that enabling Reconstruction technology on NVIDIA cards or Regeneration on AMD devices reduces the final FPS by more than half. For example the flagship RTX 5090 in native 4K resolution delivers 73 frames and after activating this option the metric drops to 34 frames per second. A similar two-fold drop in frames is recorded on all tested participants. The OptiScaler utility community reported that the modified algorithm file with int8 instructions began to function correctly with the latest video drivers. Testing showed that the project suffers from a catastrophic lack of optimization and the visuals are highly dependent on resource intensive path tracing. The analysis revealed that changing most graphics settings makes no practical sense. Lowering the quality of models textures water and vegetation to minimum values does not bring additional frames per second. Players simply get a degraded picture with flat shadows and muddy reflections at the same performance as on the Cinematic preset. The only way to control the frame rate is to use image scaling technologies. FSR 3 algorithms produce a sharp picture with noticeable noise while new iterations of DLSS soften the image but provide stability in dynamics. During testing we discovered a hidden mechanism for the operation of image scaling technologies in the settings menu. It has long been known that the DLSS 4.5 upscaler cannot be technically activated together with ray reconstruction technology. The main problem is that the game interface allows you to turn on both functions simultaneously without any warnings about a software conflict. Our analysis showed that when selecting such parameters the game engine secretly intervenes in the process.
