It’s different sides of the gracie families. The amount of time is variable. It’s a minimum of 60 classes to then be able roll once per week. And then aftwr 80 classes uou can belt up to then roll every class. There are pros and cons to it in my opinon. But glad I can finallt start rolling!

Gracie University doesn't allow new white belts to roll for the first five months. That's wild to me. On one hand yeah sure they might hurt themselves or others, but also rolling is the most fun thing to do in jiu jitsu! I don't know man it's like they are depriving them of something special. I go to a Gracie Barra and they allow white belts to roll, maybe different Gracie's?
