Interesting day with Hutchinsons Agronomists @dick_neale last week looking at our soils after winning a soil health report. Some interesting photos showing difference in soils where we are using their maxi rooter for spring crops and where we’ve direct drilled our winter barley.

So what to do on a rainy day? I know said one side of the brain cell to the other “let’s convert the drill to Dutch openers” “ great idea” said the other side. So work has begun!!

Need to keep a living root in the #soil to keep it open and drained. Another lesson learnt - took this today

@middleditchfms @BBeazley1 @middleditchfms would also like to put tractor tread tyres on it at some point but it’s been a bloody brilliant drill this year. Osr looks better drilled with it rather the subsoiler stuff. Cover crops like well. And it’s got a lot of wheat in at the moment when our 750a won’t go
