The combination of ever more low skilled migrants and Brits on benefits is a catastrophe for Britain. Reform will end it. Our tax system will put British workers first. Migrants second.

We all want to keep kids safe online. But the government’s plans will only make things worse for everyone without protecting children- the worst of both worlds. I was one of the few MPs to challenge the uniparty groupthink in Parliament. There is a better way to protect children without becoming a mass surveillance state.

How can they be dumb enough to include YouTube in this list? Literally helped me with all my GCSE revision. Such a good tool for education. The amount of stuff I’ve learned from that app is crazy. It’s very well regulated compared to other social media apps and doesn’t push crap onto my feed. This makes no sense..

Whilst the social media ban is well-intentioned, it’s unlikely to work given the mass adoption of VPNs. It will also mean the introduction of Digital ID via the back door. The real answer here is handsets for children with limited features.

Omg... it's the minutiae of the bedtime dictat that floors me! They're not even trying to hide the belief that they can parent YOUR children. As anyone who has ever put screentime controls on their kids phones will tell you, this raises questions that we parents are going to have to answer to our furious kids: Does this include weekends? Does this include school holidays? Does this include WhatsApp (the main way parents and grandparents communicate with kids)? ALL this is going to do is cause huge arguments amongst families and create a generation even more normalised to being controlled by The State. They can still see d*** pics on the bus home. It's theatre. This is not a serious government

@amymayforrester Visual learners, ones who like a combination of text and video/clips to revise a topic, independent revision outside of school for exams. All of these situations happen - children don’t just stop learning when the school bell rings at the end of a school day?

@Miss_Snuffy I appreciate learning goes on in the classroom, but it equally happens at home too. Children learn in so many different ways, one way is YouTube if they are finding a topic difficult or prefer a video to break a concept down, or to listen about a topic rather than read about it.

The first duty of any government is to defend its country. Starmer is putting welfare spending and Net Zero ahead of our national defence. Unforgivable.

At 16, you're trusted to work, pay tax, join the armed forces with parental consent, and under current plans you'll even be able to vote. Yet the Government wants 16 and 17 year olds locked out of social media at night, limiting access to political discussion and alternative viewpoints. If you're old enough to help decide the future of Britain, you should be old enough to hear different opinions. These are the actions of an increasingly authoritarian government, and they should concern everyone. This is not the Britain I want my child to grow up in. Only Reform can save Britain.

In the UK, turning 16 & 17 marks a transition into adulthood, granting young people a range of legal rights & responsibilities (see image) Yet, here’s the Labour government enforcing social media bans for 16 & 17 year olds including night curfews. This is wrong & controlling 🤦🏼‍♀️

X is banned for under 16s, but Bluesky isn't. X is a platform where people regularly share videos of crime, protests, political scandals and government failures. The other is overwhelmingly left wing and far more sympathetic to the establishment, with no videos of crime, or government failure. Naturally children, who have no other options, are now going to flood onto Bluesky and only see left leaning viewpoints. This is a two tier social media ban.

What starts as child protection never ends with child protection. First it’s the children. Then it’s “misinformation”. Then it’s “harmful content”. Then it’s whatever the government decides you shouldn’t be allowed to see. Every restriction on freedom is sold as protection.

What a superb Reform UK candidate we have in Makerfield @RobKenyonReform who will be a first class MP, standing up for his local community. Rob is absolutely right about Manchester taking resources away from towns and communities like Makerfield... we have exactly the same problem in Havering with the Greater London Authority. We need reform in Manchester and in London too! Vote Reform UK @reformparty_uk on Thursday, vote for Rob Kenyon✖️🩵🇬🇧
