When I spoke with Friskk for the first time, it was when she invited me to be an Ambassador for Twitch last Spring.
I know there are a lot of questions about what Ambassadors do and that’s because, quite frankly, Twitch didn’t know either. Friskk sought to change that. She and the Ambassador team re-worked the program to truly embody that word. This Puerto Rican powerhouse who is so funny, kind and wise had a mission and I couldn’t believe she thought I was a good for it, despite my desire to be part of change for the platform.
Friskk really believes in the responsibility of having the title ‘Ambassador’ and she always made me feel heard. When I spoke to her about Vtuber issues privately, in the Twitch summit, in internal seminars- I really felt that it wasn’t in vain. I know there is a lot of frustration with Twitch and rightfully so. But I also know that there ARE people like Friskk fighting on our behalf’s to speak up and hear the concerns of us from all our different niches and communities.
I’m livid about this. I’ve been upset about many decisions by Twitch. But, Friskk led us by showing us to be productive with our frustrations and I’ll continue to do so.
I’m absolutely biased in that I love my Ambassador class of 2024 and every time I see them it’s like a little family reunion. And Friskk made that possible.
Twitch, please, if you want to continue to be the platform that advertises itself as uplifting creators and standing by community, then stop getting rid of the staff that deeply align with those values. No AI will have the passion and care for their work like people like Friskk and others.
Thank you for all of your incredible work and let’s support her on her new journey. ❤️

After five years at Twitch, the road comes to an end due to today’s Amazon layoffs. Five years ago, I took a leap from being a full time creator on Twitch to joining Twitch proper. I wanted to make a real impact for creators on a larger scale, and I know I did that. I started on the Charity team expanding charity education helping nonprofits understand how to collaborate with creators and supporting creators fundraising for the causes they care most about. I onboarded and fast tracked animal focused non profits to Twitch, helping them bring their animal cams online during the pandemic to grow global audiences beyond local support during the shutdown. From that work, I created the Animals, Aquariums & Zoos category on Twitch. Im also one of the folks who launched the Twitch Charity Tool, empowering creators to fundraise directly on Twitch for nonprofits. After the first layoff, I was moved to Twitch’s Marketing department, where I expanded the Ambassador Program giving it new life and to the Ambassadors, new direction and purpose. From integrating ambassadors into internal feedback loops across monetization, product, trust & safety and more, to larger inclusion in marketing efforts across the site as well as TwitchCon, these were some of the way I uplifted and supported Twitch Ambassadors, their communities and the things they are passionate about. As for what’s next, I’m updating my resume and exploring new opportunities where I can continue empowering communities through community management, creator partnerships, program management, or marketing. While I look for my next adventure, I’ll also be returning to content creation, so you’ll definitely be seeing more of me around. I’ve got some things I’ve been wanting to create and right now is the perfect time 🙂 It’s not goodbye. It’s see you in chat. 💜

Hades 2 is one of the best games ever made.
