@CharIieBennett Leave Hall on the bench to bring on I think, or alternatively we could take him off at half time. We need him fit for Arsenal
English

Ramsdale; Krafth, Thiaw, Botman, Hall; Miley, Willock, Joelinton; Elanga, Gordon, Osula
That would be my Newcastle team tomorrow. A solid blend of managing minutes while picking a strong team to win the game. #NUFC
English

@MattW36565526 The problem with Miley is how often he passes backwards. He’s got the ability to be a top player in years to come but he’s got to be looking for the right pass more, you should only go back if there’s no good option in front of you
English

@MagpieMediaX He was unbelievable to be fair, it’s unbelievable that that player costs 60 million these days. He’s slow, he struggles to beat a man, isn’t in the right position for crosses, he was awful
English

Joao Pedro has been unbelievable on his own up front for Chelsea tonight.
Him and Ekitike are the only CFs I’m disappointed #NUFC missed out on looking back upon the summer window - Sesko, on the other hand…
English

@KDBZone_ It’s true though, De Bruyne was a level above Pedri
English

De Bruyne had their manager publicly begging for him after the game
K P@paarsons
Pedri is genuinely the best player I’ve ever seen kick the ball about St James’ by the way.
English

@TFMick1892 It doesn’t happen that often these days because that kind of quality isn’t seen in players so much anymore. De Bruyne had it once or twice but that’s the only time in the last few years I can remember it beyond Chris Wood
English

He’d had a brilliant game. We did the same for Jonny Rep (Bastia) and Patrick Kluivert (Barcelona).
It’s called good sportsmanship.

Gerrard getting a standing ovation at St James’ Park after his masterclass in 08/09
English

@NUFCTalkPod @ToonPolls Elanga would’ve had more than two assists in the games he’s played if he’d ever had the chance to play with a striker. One bad substitute cameo at Leeds and people think he’s average, he was an excellent player for Forest and he’ll be the same here
English

Big question for Sunday, who starts RW?
Murphy has 2 assists in 2 and the knack of effecting games.
Elanga had his best game by far last night and was a constant threat.
#NUFC @ToonPolls
English

@CraigHope_DM We have to gamble on it, Howe is too loyal to players who don’t deserve to be in the team. Trippier and Barnes starting for us with the way they’re playing is unforgivable and 52,000 people in that ground last night could see it
English

⚠️ Eddie Howe on Nick Woltemade...
🗣️ “We're going to have to look after Nick. It's hard enough for him to come into a new league - & you could see the physical effects he felt with Wolves & then the quick turn-around again here.
“There's no guarantee even by managing him that he's going to stay fit & play all the games, but we're going to try to give him the best chance to stay fit & also acclimatise to the league that he's in.
“But he's made a very good start. He did well when he came on (vs Barca), I was really pleased with him. He was involved in the goal, so he'll hopefully be in a good place"

English

@bounou75666486 @thomashammond__ Iniesta did, he scored some of the biggest goals of anyone in the Barcelona and Spain teams, and he created a lot of goals as well. Why do you think he often played as a winger? And you’ll find that most of the great midfielders are remembered most for the goals they scored
English

@InformativeFO16 @thomashammond__ Iniesta didn't have that contribution to the final third, but it is the standard for midfielders. Controlling games, making it play at your tempo, and orchestrating builds-ups and attacks make a great midfielder. Attack is for attackers
English

@bounou75666486 @thomashammond__ And that’s rubbish
English

@InformativeFO16 @thomashammond__ Definitely above the likes of KDB, Silva, Lampard, Kroos, Pirlo, Kaka etc.
English

@bounou75666486 @thomashammond__ No it isn’t. Pedri is really good in the centre of the pitch, but those players you mentioned and the others I named were also good in the final third. Pedri has to add more in terms of attacking contribution to his game to be considered a great midfielder
English

@InformativeFO16 @thomashammond__ The only thing keeping Pedri from being considered above these players is the UCL trophies and/ World Cup trophy. If life is fair, he gets these, I think, but the moment I saw him touch the ball at 17, I knew we were witnessing a phenomenon, same bracket as Iniesta, Xavi, Zizou.
English

@thomashammond__ That’s pretty unbelievable. Pedri is a good player and keeps the game ticking over, but De Bruyne is an all time great at the level of Zidane and Zico. I’d also have Pedri below Gerrard, Lampard, Toure and David Silva as midfielders we’ve seen in recent years
English

@InformativeFO16 Yeah a few times, and I still Pedri is the best I’ve seen
English

@mattyg0lightly @_MatthewMcGahey @S0uthernGe0rdie Was totally in the wrong position for the first goal yesterday and against Liverpool as well
English

@_MatthewMcGahey @S0uthernGe0rdie Hasn’t put a foot wrong so far this season you muppet
English

@ToonPolls We will. Arsenal look a lot stronger than them at the moment. To be honest, even our starting 11 now that we’ve got the striker in is probably a match for theirs
English

Winning when you’re not playing well is literally THE hallmark of title winners. As is finding late goals from nowhere.
I’m no Liverpool fan but I’m sure they’ll be delighted, not terrified, by the start they’ve made.
Haroun@HarounHickman
Liverpool are painfully underwhelming. This luck won’t carry them over a 38-game season and their first tough run of fixtures is about to begin. Decline incoming - and for what it’s worth, many inside Anfield are terrified about this.
English

@MagpieMediaX We’re so much easier to catch on the break when he’s not in the team, he wins countless challenges in midfield that keep us in possession (or win it back), how’s that reducing our control?
English

@InformativeFO16 Not in a team trying to control a match, far from it in fact. That’s clearly what Howe’s evolving us into…
English

Just fell to my knees in sheer joy. This new-look #NUFC build-up shape is gorgeous, imagine what it’ll be like when everyone is fit and available? Eddie is EVOLVING!👇🏽🔥

Jake@Jake_armstrong9
I see that box midfield Edward, Murphy and Barnes running beyond, yeah yeah I see it.
English

@InformativeFO16 @NSpares @CraigHope_DM The club said it was individuals who sold them, they have been caught completely red handed
English

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Newcastle staff DID know tickets were being resold to Scottish schools by third-party agencies
👇 FULL details of our investigation, revealing...
⌛️ Number of years it has happened

dailymail.co.uk/sport/football…
English

@NSpares @CraigHope_DM To be fair, we’ve been told that this agency bought a block of season tickets in the Ashley days and has resold them each game since. That is pretty plausible given how easy they were to get in the dark days, but the phrasing of season ticket holders did give the wrong impression
English

@CraigHope_DM And they happily pushed a narrative indicating it was caused by Season Ticket holders.
English

@bazza080808 We were in total control and he threw the ball straight to a Liverpool player in our half and they scored from it
English

@InformativeFO16 How did trips cost us the Liverpool game?
Not one player was to blame for that game
