The second round of the teacher survey is currently being circulated to teachers in the national sample of 100 schools. If you are a teacher in one of these schools, we would really appreciate your time in completing the survey #juniorcycle

In-depth case studies were also conducted in 12 schools, using surveys with junior cycle students (n=1830), focus groups with 213 of these students, interviews with volunteer teachers (n=73), interviews with school leaders (n-20) and a sample of parents (n=30) 2/2

For our national teacher survey, we devised a representative sample of 100 schools ensuring the sample was reflective of school type, size, DEIS status, gender, geographical location of the overall population of schools. The 2nd report includes findings from 1,375 teachers 1/2

We are currently contacting schools, identified by @UL team through a stratified random sample, to invite them to take part in principal interviews and teacher surveys (Dimension 2). Additional voices will be captured in Dimension 3. For more info see: tinyurl.com/y97ptry8

Dr @acalderon_pe is a Senior Lecturer in @PessLimerick. His research interest revolves around teaching and learning, particularly exploring the role of digital technology to enhance (or not) teaching and learning. Antonio is a member of the school case study team.

As part of this project, @HelenCostello11 will co-ordinate the contact with schools for the school-based dimensions of the research on behalf of the team.

Helen is a PhD researcher @SchoolOfEd_UL @UL. Helen has worked in post-primary education for over twenty years and is an experienced teacher & school leader. Currently she is seconded to the support service Junior Cycle for teachers (JCT) as Team Leader for Leadership 1/2

Our next team member is Dr @aoifeneary. Aoife is a Lecturer in Sociology of Education @SchoolOfEd_UL. Drawing on feminist, queer and affect theory, her research explores the politics of gender & sexuality in schools/society. She is contributing to the case study in this research

Ann’s teaching/research interests revolve around instructional alignment, curriculum and assessment and teacher educators’ professional learning needs. Ann is contributing to the school-based case study. More info is available here: ul.ie/pess/iframe-st… 2/2
