It’s the middle of June! Imagine coming up 18 on the Old Course and playing through a snow storm. That’s just what happened yesterday. Feel awful for the guys who lost their round. But for the ones who finished liked this, what a memory!

Big 12's Brett Yormark: "Shortly before the start of today's Big 12 Executive Board meeting, the Conference received a letter from the Texas Attorney General's office notifying the Conference of potential legal action from Texas Tech if the Conference pursues certain actions under its Bylaws. We are taking time w/our legal counsel to understand the concerns of the state & will meet again w/the full Board next week. "We moved forward w/our Executive Board today in preparation for our full Board meeting on Monday. We had a good & informative discussion. Sentiment among the Executive Board was no different from what we heard from the ADs earlier this week. "Our discussion w/the full Board will determine our course of action & all options remain on the table"

If the Texas AG is really serious about suing the Big 12 for violating the federal antitrust laws, he’s not going to be able to litigate that claim before a state court judge. As a matter of law, that case would have to be litigated in a federal district court.

The letter states that any sanction against Texas Tech for following Sorsby's court order "would be a per se violation of federal and state antitrust laws" that would expose the Big 12 conference and its members to treble damages totaling "substantially more than $200 million."
Justin Williams@Williams_Justin

The office of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sent a letter to the Big 12 on behalf of Texas Tech and obtained by @TheAthletic. It states that any sanctions against Texas Tech over the Brendan Sorsby situation would be treated as "unlawful" and would lead to legal action.
