It's perihelion day, Today. In Northern Hemisphere we're right in the middle of winter, but Earth is actually at its closest position to the Sun. Today the Earth is 5 million kilometeres closer to the Sun than it is are in early July. So why isn't hotter than in July? Because Earth's tilt (and not its distance from the Sun) causes seasons.

We hire teachers for their strengths, yet we fixate on managing their perceived weaknesses. Imagine the impact if we not only identified and celebrated strengths but also created a culture actively nurturing and amplifying them!

Timed tests don’t measure what students know. They assess how students perform under stress. Data: tests under time pressure underestimate the abilities of girls—especially in math, where test anxiety is high. If students can't finish a test, make it shorter or give more time.
