@thebricksession That’s a shame. But perhaps why these events charge so much these days. I’m sure the athlete experience would be more wholesome from events such as yours not built upon profit.

I just got an email letting me know I got an entry for the @EscapeAlcatraz, but after seeing the entry fee at a whopping $862 for a standard distance event. I decided to give this one a miss.

@JonWarrenTri When i organised events i didn’t do goodie bags. I payed for free photos for all the athletes.

@thebricksession Exactly. When you have done enough of these type of events you do not need a t-shirt or bag. I always like a medal, but given the choice, I’d rather pay less to only receive a medal and not the other stuff. I normally give my bags away to newer club members who don’t have one yet

I don’t yet have words to describe my 750km Badlands experience. But without the water fountains of the Sierra Nevada I would never have made it. 15,000m of elevation is only a big number until you try to ride it non stop. 59 hrs 33mins. 3 hrs “sleep”. 3rd woman. Broken

The TV direction wasn't the best during today's sprint but @lavuelta hit the jackpot because they put a camera on the bike of Geoffrey Soupe who won the stage. Fantastic footage, these guys are mad! 🤩 #LaVuelta23
