H. English 10 Sts. are conducting rhetorical analysis with Justice Marshall’s ‘54 speech to the SCOTUS. This is an AP Lang. skill that crosses content areas, but also prepares Sts. for real life: advocating for themselves and defending their beliefs! 🙌🏻 #SMMHSSoars

Officially accepted into the University of TN School of Music as a music major and committed for Fall 2023! This was a VERY competitive process, and we couldn’t be more proud of him. Excited for Luke’s next chapter! Go big 🍊!!

This project prepares students for the research required for the DP Extended Essay, as well as numerous research assignments across other DP and Dual Enrollment courses.

H.Eng10 is learning how to research for annotated bibs. and formal pres. They chose a TIME Top 100 Winner, wrote an Inq. ?, and will apply research skills to find reliable sources, create source cards, write a formal research paper, and present. #gettingreadyforDP #SMMHSSoars

H.Eng.10 Sts are wrapping up their MYP performance summatives for Macbeth. They are writing and filming modern-day scenes. We will have a film festival day where we watch their movies, and academy awards will be given in multiple categories. 🎥🍿 #gettingreadyforDPLit #SMMHSSoars

Honors Eng.10 Sts. are studying Shakespeare’s influence on the English language and created their own Shakespearean insults that they shared with the class. They also presented their research on the bard’s life, works, and impact on literature. 📚 #SMMHSSoars

I can’t believe we have an 18 year old, but we couldn’t be more proud! Happiest 18th birthday to our oldest. He is amazing, and we can’t wait to see all the wonderful things ahead of him over the next year!

These two went from the runner-up marching band state champs last weekend to 1st chair alto and 1st chair tenor saxophone for All East Jazz Band auditions this weekend! Proud of how hard they work and how passionate they are about music! 🎷 #SMMHSSoars
