Revisionism is the most powerful tool in football history. I still remember when calling Karim Benzema a world-class #9 in 2017 would get you laughed off the timeline. He was seen as Cristiano’s water carrier, a structural asset but a goal-scoring flop. ​One Ballon d’Or later and those same people are calling him the GOAT striker.

Watching the timeline is hilarious right now. Any winger who completes a dribble is suddenly better than Lamine Yamal in your eyes. ​And don’t get me started on the Pedri comparisons. Just because a midfielder can turn without falling over doesn't mean he has Pedri's IQ.

Ronaldo joined the team 1st in the league and failed for years to win the league until the PIF bought him world class players (and the referees). Messi went to THE WORST team in the MLS and less than 3 years later, he won the entire league. As they say, EARNED. Not given.

Can we just appreciate the domestic grind for once? Forget about the UCL, it’s a pipe dream right now. Winning the league and the cups in Spain should be the priority. Sick of people acting like we’re ready for Europe when we aren't.
