We have every reason to celebrate with joy and confidence on Easter. God has won salvation for us, and so we boldly confess and praise His name. He is risen, indeed! Alleluia!

It is at the cross of Christ that all humanity receives unmerited grace and the strengthening of our faith. This spiritual healing was offered to all, at the moment Christ earned our salvation. Jesus accomplished our salvation at His death on the cross.

By virtue of Jesus’ promise attached to Holy Communion, we receive life, forgiveness, and salvation when we eat and drink in faith. Our relationship with God is restored and we are able to stand in his presence as his redeemed children once again.

Those faithful followers lining the street on that original Palm Sunday did not only praise Jesus, they began to extend Him to others. They wanted others to meet their Savior and Lord. How will you share the news of Christ with your friends and family?

Despite the solemn nature of this Ash Wednesday we must not forget that the placing of ashes upon the forehead of the believer is done so in the sign of the cross. The symbol of the cross serves as a sign of hope during this darkened occasion.
