It often occurred to me to save voicemails from my parents. I knew they were beautiful mementos but I assumed I would have other opportunities. After my mom died I frantically tried to retrieve them with no luck. I think there should be an option to permanently save messages.

I’m guessing AI made these pustulent oozing decaying dripping depictions in an attempt to target what it imagines might be our innermost fears/desires… not sure which it’s meant to convey but either way it might say more about AI than us, and I’m charmed!

Kirk Howard left a huge legacy, stemming from a vision he had as a young man. He made a profound impact on Canadian publishing. In the 6 years that I worked for him from when I was hired at Dundurn until he retired, I had many chances to enjoy his kind, direct, and gentle manner.

@JulieMannell a distant grand-uncle-twice-removed was called Stockton Day and I'm almost sure I only know about him because of his name... the mere fact that he graced the earth that my relatives stood on, even though I have no idea what he else he did.

@hollykent Yes! How does it know my face in sunglasses but not in normal circumstances! Also I feel like I'm being judged when it doesn't recognize me, like I don't pass the test.

My phone doesn't recognize my face over half the time. I had a whole stress dream about it. Considering my hesitation in adding my fingerprint to their freaky database, I am disappointed that was for nought now that I am on tenterhooks every time the faceID pops up.

There used to be more lilac trees on my street and I'm worried the owners got rid of them because of scent-lurkers like me.

That feeling when you're just standing there, hauling back the drunken scent of lilac blossom with abandon, and you refocus your gaze to see the owner sitting on his porch a mere 2 feet away.

Could we change the word 'landlord' to 'rent-collector' or something a bit less feudalistic?

I saw an owl in High park this morning and when I excitedly pointed it out to a woman walking by she replied "Oh, yes, lots of birds out today!" Oh OKAY like seeing an owl must happen to her every day, must be nice!

Getting this email every day never gets old. I like their certainty that I'd be a great fit for Buttcon.
