4th Grade is learning to construct and interpret diagrams of life cycles. So first up, we have to do the research to support our learning. Each student has chosen their animal and is now becoming an expert on their specific life cycles.

I have loved working with second grade students to share their understanding of the phases of the moon after learning about it in science. Keynote animations and voice recording made it easy for them to show and explain their learning!

Individual archeological digs today in @julia_amdy class! Students found different fossil types and then used them as evidence to draw conclusions about the environments, both past and present, that they may be digging in.

K students are getting ready to head into their fairytale unit next week so today we designed and built ways to help Rapunzel escape her tower!

What else are you supposed to do after reading “The Legend of Rock, Paper, Scissors” other than head outside and hold an epic tournament of team rock, paper, scissors!

2nd grade is heading into their mini unit on the moon and what better way to kick it off than watching the Apollo 11 landing, hearing from astronauts, and accepting a challenge from NASA themselves. Can you build a lunar lander?

We built our final water filters in @TeachAiello class today. One student remarked unprompted, “I love to build. I feel so confident when I’m building.” 🤯🥰

After testing and having the most successful test in the room this S said, “It worked! Now it’s time to improve!” Love her design but love her energy and growth mindset just as much!

Quote of the day from a 2nd grader: “I know we just started building but I’ve already reimagined my design to make it work better.” 🤯🤗😃🥰

Testing our designs in @BoyerMrs class today! Students read “The Runaway Pumpkin” and then were challenged to design something that would stop a pumpkin rolling down a hill! The reflections and conversations after testing were impressive!

We’ve got some confident builders in ⁦@MrsMleczko⁩ today! They are designing a water filtration system to separate a mixture of liquids and solids to help solve a real world problem of unsanitary drinking water in parts of the world as part of their states of matter unit!
