Oh this is such a mess. If the Omega tech was used to record an official time, I'm worried about USAG's chances with an appeal. Hopefully, changes will be made to the rulebook and technology so this doesn't happen again.

If the inquiry wasn't late that makes the entire CAS decision wrong but also IOC/FIG cannot tell Ana you have a bronze, you don't have a bronze, you have a bronze again, wait nope sorry no bronze. That's beyond cruel. Give multiple bronze!!!!

Now USAG and USOPC are having to argue that it was submitted on time when it was the officials' responsibility to keep track of that in real time IN THE FIRST PLACE.

As ridiculous as I think the 1-minute limit for inquiries from the last athlete rule is, it was clearly stated in the rule book (I'm almost certain that will change bc of this mess). The issue is that the officials failed to keep track of the time AND they accepted the inquiry

I'm so glad that they're fighting this. 4 seconds is so short - if they're going to be that strict, there needs to be a visible timer. Parties shouldn't have to comb through timestamped videos & athletes shouldn't be put through a traumatic, emotional rollercoaster
