The riprap was just installed around the creek side of the outlet pipe at Smart Wetland 5 and will be installed within the wetland at inlet and outlet. The riprap prevents erosion around the pipes keeping the stable over time. @MP_SWCD @IllinoisLICA @WetlandsTWI #wetlands

The 300-foot view of Smart Wetland 5! The wetland and surrounding buffer will be seeded in the next couple of days. We can wait to see what other plants sprout from the seed bank at that location! @MP_SWCD, #cleanwater, #wetlands

Construction continued today on Smart Wetland 5 in Marshall County. The pipe that runs from the wetland to the nearby creek was installed. It will carry the ag-tile water that has been treated for nitrates from the wetland to the Schole’s Branch Creek. ⁦@MP_SWCD#wetlands

June is Pollinator Month! Birds, bees, butterflies and even bats are all pollinators! Pollinators are not only critical to our food system, they also pollinate the plants that hold the soil in place preventing erosion! Now ya know!
